The cozy festive atmosphere fills the air with the aroma of the wood, heightened by snowflakes streaming down outside the window.

Most of us have heard the phrase 'Life is a play.' What's your role in that play? Director or actor?

Being the director of your play means you have total control over what's going on. You have the authority to cast your characters and monitor what they're doing under your lead. Of course, authority goes hand in hand with responsibilities. On the contrary, if you choose to play in someone else's scenario, you have to learn to compromise your ego, work under their control, and sometimes go against your will. The results of your contribution do not always pay off.

Clearly, each of us is the director of our own life. We also have our own role models for different roles involved in our life: wife, husband, hero…

Let's take an example to clarify the roles of director and actor in life. One day, a young guy bumped into a girl in the subways. The moment he looked at her, an electric shock ran through his body. This girl perfectly matched his crush 100%. He immediately cast the girl as the female protagonist in his love story movie. She would act exactly as he envisioned from his Ms. Right's repertoire. Although he didn't know much about the girl, except for the beautiful figure his brain had scanned just seconds before. Now, let's explore several scenarios as they dated. I won't explore cases where the girl rejected dating, as that would result in countless scenarios. 😊

1. If the girl was exactly what he dreamed of, and she had the same feelings, the movie ended here. They're a lucky couple. They're both directors and actors if they want.

2. If the girl wasn't what he expected, he was disillusioned. However, if he could overcome the unexpected, compromise to adapt to her, he found his true love. He became an actor who loved his career. If not, he was the actor who quit his role, either because he failed to overcome challenges during filming or voluntarily gave up because it went against his will. 😊

3. If the girl was not what he expected, but she compromised to play the female protagonist in his play, obviously, he was the director, she was the actress, and would do what he told her to do.

So, how about you? What role do you want to play in your life?
