It is festival / film contest season. We got a nice suprise today. was awarded Best Feature Documentary for the . This is our 6th award. Every award and every acknowledgement means something. Hundreds of passionate film makers submit their work. They chose us. We toiled for years in obscurity, popping our heads up every once in a while to let folks know that we hadnβt given up on keeping our promise, while wondering in my head, is anyone going to care when we DO finish this?
No one will ever truly know what it took from inception to completion or the emotional toll it took, but I know and that is what matters. Last June, we finally came out into the light. It was exciting and scary. There were so many questions unanswered. Those questions have been answered. It has been an incredible 6-months for
Honestly, the best part is being able to share with our community and the people who have supported us when we launched this project. This is truly a community project for our community.
Thank you to those of you who have seen the film and shared your thoughts with me directly. It means so much and lets us know we are on the right path. This movie is a love letter to our community, our city and those who suffer in silence.
It has been an amazing ride so far. We will see where it goes. There is no finish line.

6-months ago, finally premiered in our city under the Space Needle. There is something incredibly special about viewing a film you directed and produced with friends on the big screen. Shared experiences seem to be fewer and further between. One of the subjects of our film, Bennett White, who was in stage-4 cancer said it best. βWe all need to help each other to help get through the hard times.β Cancer is hard times. War is hard times. Oppression is hard times. The world is going through hard times and we need each other and we need to connect more now than ever. We are doing our best to do our small part to bring some light and love into the world through hard times.
For those of you who were not able to attend the live screening this past June - On Saturday, February, we are coming back to Seattle Center for a live screening.
