My name is Zulaima, however people know me as “Zuli”. I grew up in Campeche, which is in southeast Mexico, on the west side of the Yucatan Peninsula and I moved to Seattle in 2002. I have two sons Justin (21) and Viktor (15). I enjoy spending time with my family, going bike riding, going camping, drawing, going to movies, visiting the library, and I’m passionate about skulls and oddities. I have been working in the Child Development field for over 15 years, and I have a Preschool Bilingual Child Development Associate Credential. I am currently working towards my associate degree in early childhood education. I am part of the Grupo Cultural Oaxaqueño which promotes the rich cultural traditions of Oaxaca, Mexico. I believe the purpose of early education for children should provide opportunities to develop proficiency in all aspects of self, learn to live with others, express their feelings and enjoy new experiences but overall to discover their uniqueness.

All ready for Fall:) all of our teachers worked so hard these last couple days. We can’t wait to see all of our new and current families in all their new classes next week 💚

One of our moms came to the school a while back to do a secret surprise gift with the PreK class and she gave it to me this past Friday at their graduation. This filled my heart with so much happiness 💚 I am so thankful for the amazing families that we have at ELC!

Hello families, we will have a space in our PreK class starting this Fall. This will be for friends between the ages of 4-5 years old.

Our PreK classroom has a 1:10 ratio. At E.L.C we strive to provide a loving, fun, safe environment for your children. We have lots of open-ended free play as well as a developmentally appropriate curriculum that will be enriched with Art, Music, Literacy, STEM, Fine motor, Gross motor, and outdoor exploration.

Our preschool classrooms have a 1:10 ratio with a max capacity of 20. At E.L.C we strive to provide a loving, fun, safe environment for your children. We have lots of open-ended free play as well as a developmentally appropriate curriculum that will be enriched with Art, Music, Literacy, STEM, Fine motor, Gross motor, and outdoor exploration.

Hello! My name is Mara Young.

A little about me…I was born in the PNW and grew up in Olympia, WA. I’ve lived in West Seattle for the last 14 years, and have loved being a part of this community, it is my home. I was a florist for 4 ½ years before I began my journey working with children as a Paraprofessional Instructional Assistant with Seattle Public Schools for 8 years. I worked with children in preschool up to 5th grade, and it was a joy being with students from so many grade levels. I’m excited for this new chapter working with kiddos in their early years now with ELC! It has been incredible to see how much they learn and grow so quickly, and I’m looking forward to witnessing more of this magic and learning from them and my team. Things I love most in this world…making memories with family & friends, being with animals and nature, tending to my plants, working in the garden, roaming a nursery with a yummy coffee, watching movies and shows, reading fiction books, writing, quiet walks, traveling, and taking care of my home. I am so grateful to be a Pre-K teacher in the ELC Community! Thank you! 😊
