Threads of Her: Seo-Nang
— duet excerpt with &
A reimagined fragment of The Wind of Fate,
once performed in Korea,
now reborn through a new body, a new time.
Presented as part of
Seattle International Dance Festival 2025
This duet lives inside the larger work—
a moment of connection, tension, and trust.
Between us,
there is pull and release,
softness and resistance,
like threads held between two souls.
Rooted in the spirit of ‘Seo-Nang’,
a protective ancestral feminine force,
this exchange becomes both ritual and memory.
Not just movement—
but a quiet conversation of strength.

A collaboration with Jiamin Zhu that has stayed meaningful to me.
Through this work, I had the honor of being featured in two magazines—
an experience that came from being part of something truly beautiful, both as a model and as a collaborator.
Now, as a gallery owner, I’m excited to present another side of her practice—
one that expands through different models, ideas, and visual approaches.
Her work carries a strong experimental spirit,
moving across and beyond traditional boundaries of editorial photography.
It feels especially meaningful to share this with the Seattle community,
and to highlight the depth and range of what a photographer here can create.
I’m truly happy to present this exhibition.

I’ve known Julie for nearly two decades, and I’ve watched her leadership grow from student advocacy at the University of Washington to continued service in our community. Her commitment has always been grounded in care, steadiness, and a deep respect for the people she represents.
Gallery B612 is proud to serve as a space where art, dialogue, and civic engagement come together.

Grateful to share my perspective as an art leader with Danielle as part of her practicum in the Seattle University Art Leadership graduate program.
We spoke about building sustainable arts spaces, leading with vision and resilience, and nurturing community through culture through my work at Gallery B612
(And yes — I was wearing a mask as I wasn’t feeling well last week, just out of care and consideration.)
Conversations among arts leaders — across experiences and paths — continue to strengthen our field.
Thank you, Danielle, for such thoughtful and meaningful dialogue. ❤️

Happy 2-Year Anniversary at Gallery B612, Kelly💗 — so grateful for these years together 🤍
From the moment I first received her resume,
she was my top choice.
Over time, she proved herself through the work—
on the floor, behind the scenes, and in the details.
She works in step with my direction,
helping shape the gallery into something more thoughtful and beautiful.
Having grown from assistant curator into a confident curator,
she’s become a trusted collaborator in how we move forward.
An important part of our gallery today,
and someone I truly value building with over time.
