Introducing the new Solmade ☀️ What started as a refresh earlier this year evolved into a full rebrand, and I’m so excited to finally share it with the world.

I’ve always loved the double meaning behind my business name: work made from the soul, and “sol,” which means sun in Spanish. Warmth, optimism, artistry, light. Things that have always shaped both me and my work.

But I never gave my own brand the level of attention I give to my clients. Lots of reasons for that–fear of committing to a style or colors, lack of time, and I just wasn’t ready.

The internal evolution hadn’t happened yet. A rebrand can’t just be aesthetic. It has to reflect who you’ve already become.

Over the last few years, I’ve changed so much as a designer, business owner, and person. And this year I was ready to own the things that make this studio what it is.

So I created a custom wordmark with movement and warmth. I leaned into the sun motif instead of overcomplicating it. I embraced the color yellow (always my favorite, but I was scared to use it in my business), and grounded it in other earthy colors, textures and sun print patterns. And I refined my messaging around something I believe deeply: the best brands aren’t just seen, they’re felt.

This rebrand is a new chapter for Solmade Studio and for me personally. I wanted it to feel like this song sounds: a dandelion in the wind. A little earthy, bright, and free-spirited.

When we were shooting, my photographer said I was leaning into the sun like a wildflower, and that’s when I knew we nailed it.

Thanks for being on this journey with me.
xo, Jennifer

We kicked off this year with launching their monthly planner business, and I shared a lot about the brand and product design process back then, but not as much about their beautiful website 💛

So here’s a full look at the most robust website we’ve ever built, including custom sections, a monthly subscription integration, a free resource library with multiple opt-in segments, a blog, and more.

The Daily Canvas is so much more than a monthly planner. It’s a journal, a health tracker, a prayer tool, a resource library and frankly a whole community for organizing your life in a way that works for you and in step with God.

Take a look at dailycanvas.com and let me know what you think!

Highlighting the rich, layered website we created for last year.

I shared the branding for this project in detail when we launched, but got busy and didn’t give her digital home the spotlight it deserved.

The site has a mood of warmth, invitation, layering and detail, just like Kris and the spaces she designs for her clients.

A look at what’s been on my screen and desk lately. The studio has been so full of incredible brand stories this year! I’m way behind on sharing the work we’re doing, but I will soon.

What an unbelievable dream that I get to do this every day. So thankful for every client, project and story 💛

A look at what was on my screen this week… and it was a lot!

-Finished branding for a Retail Advisory company

-Shared the launch of a florist client’s new homepage

-Sent off Creative Direction for two new brands

-Started early design concepts for a haircare product

-Refinements to an aesthetician’s online store

-And ugly doodles because I don’t think there’s any greater torture than a brand designer trying to design her own branding (🙋🏼‍♀️) and round and round we go. But truly, I have to order print items for my rebrand next week so we will be done this weekend one way or another 🙃

A moment for this rejected brand illustration that I think still deserves to shine after we went in a more graphic vs. painterly direction.

My client’s maiden name is Roseberry, and we drew special inspiration for the brand from her grandfather’s midcentury business cards, which had rose and berry illustrations.

I love that little strawberry 🥲 We almost cut it from the final marks because the client’s partner (her husband haha) was worried it didn’t make “sense.” But I said that’s what makes it unique and cool! Branding doesn’t always have to make perfect sense. Sometimes being a little offbeat and memorable is way more valuable. And they agreed.

Have you ever seen an illustration of a strawberry hanging from a rose stem before? I haven’t. It’s uniquely theirs 😍

Introducing the new homepage for 🥀

I worked with Meghan to bring more refinement, craft, balance and a better customer journey to her homepage.

She had beautiful branding to start with, but she needed help integrating it into her website in a cohesive, editorial way. Now she has a beautiful, engaging page with clearer and more strategic messaging for her visitors.

Some of my favorite shades of red *and* fun colors I love to pair them with ❤️🩷

I love a good red on red, so I really love the first combo. Which pairing is your favorite?

The heart of this brand lives in the typography. The fonts we used have so much personality and details that nod to classic Italian signage and historic design. I’m just a girl who really loves type 🤓

Swipe to the end to see the type customizations we did for Tisha’s logo. The craft really lives in the smallest of details 🫒
