I recently built two rain gardens for a client, one in her front yard and one in her back yard. She sent me this email today "I want to tell you that I'm enjoying my rain gardens. My basement sump pump that used to run a lot in the winter has been completely quiet. This morning I found a salamander under one of the pots that was sitting on the driveway. I moved her to the rain garden and she disappeared in a minute--I think she'll be happy there. I also saw a varied thrush and a song sparrow poking around the back garden."
