People are messaging me about my post yesterday and I want to explain as a photographer with an iphone and a DSLR, we have different expectations of ourselves. The photos we post online from our phones often look good but when photographers travel with professional level cameras they have higher expectations of their “real” photos. Not the ones taken with their phones but they ones they want to put in their portfolio. I’m always hoping to get “one good shot” I can put in my portfolio. My portfolio is only 10 photos! So the goals are high. I know the lines are blurred these days because phones are amazing and this all sounds very dramatic! :) but just a clarification when a photographer says “good photos.” This is how we think.
Tell me I’m wrong Chris.

My friend Lexi just graduated from beauty school and asked if she could practice doing extensions on me. Why not, I could use a glow up :) and she did an amazing job! Love you Lexi thank you!! ❤️

I’m spending a lot of time in this little town, Langley, on Whidbey Island. It’s called the “Village by the Sea,” and I recommend visiting if you’ve never been.
There’s a bell in town you can ring so everyone knows if you spot a whale and I was finally in the right place at the right time. I saw a big pod of Orcas with a baby! I didn’t take a photo because I was too busy looking through the binoculars :) I’ve been waiting a long time to see the local pod and finally got my chance. Super stoked! Island life for the win.
