'Stereotype Threat': Why Women Quit Science Jobs : NPR It isn't just that fewer women choose to go into fields involving science, engineering technology and math. Even when they do and are successful, women are more likely than men to quit. Psychological research suggests the gender disparity may be, at least in part, the result of a stereotype.

Thanks to all those who attending the General GPAC meeting! Here are the take-home points from the meeting:

1) Be sure to make sure your info is current on MDITR's GPAC webpage
2) Be persistent in recruiting for Cafe Photonique participants
3) Be sure to fill out your poll regarding the speakers for the 2012 MDITR retreat and submit them to Ariel Marshall ASAP
4) Be on the look out for Shaun Taylor's upcoming questionaire about professional development workshops for the 2012 MDITR retreat
