One of our favorite things about working with nonprofits is getting to help important stories reach the room. For KidVantage's Helping Kids Thrive luncheon, that meant supporting a program full of videos and personal stories from social workers, teachers, counselors, and others who see KidVantage’s impact firsthand.

They’re people doing important work and have meaningful thoughts to share, not professional speakers.

Our role was pretty simple: make sure people could see them, hear them, and stay focused on what they were saying.

Kim Christensen from KidVantage told us:

For the Davey Awards at 4105, we partnered with D Squared Hospitality to help transform the space with large-scale projections that added energy, movement, and a little extra wow to the evening.

One of the things we love about 4105 is how well the projection walls lend themselves to creative event design. Whether you’re using them for branding, motion graphics, themed visuals, or something completely unexpected, they can change the feel of the room without adding a lot of extra elements to the space.

And when the event is all about celebrating your team? That’s a pretty great excuse to have some fun with it.

Have you ever wondered what all those mysterious boxes, cables, and controls at the AV table actually do?

Here’s one example: a DI box.

It’s a small tool that helps us connect devices like laptops or phones to an audio system while keeping the signal clean. It can be especially helpful when a presenter arrives with a video or other audio embedded in their presentation.

Then there are digital mixers, which let our technicians prepare different sound settings for different parts of your event, and adapters that make sure the laptop someone brought actually connects to the equipment in the room.

They’re small details, but they’re often the difference between your event being delayed due to tech issues and it running smoothly.
