The waxes have left the studio 🙌

After an intensive stretch of working in wax, I dropped off the newest forms to be cast in bronze. Wax is where I begin to capture a sense of fluid ribbons in motion.

Casting transforms that gesture into metal, but what comes back is only the beginning. The raw bronze will be rough. From there, I’ll spend days sanding, refining and sculpting the metal by hand until the final form is revealed.

For now, the work is somewhere between wax and metal. I can’t wait to get my hands on it again!

Returning to my roots.

Before jewelry, I spent years designing and making luxury lingerie, working with silk, lace and ribbon, and learning how fabric folds, drapes and moves around the body.

As I explore this new body of work, I keep finding myself drawn back to that tactile language. Today’s experiments: folded ribbons, sketches and the beginnings of ideas for bringing softness and luminous color into conversation with sculptural metal.

I don’t know exactly where it’s going yet. That’s the exciting part.

I love how the same fluid form takes on an entirely different energy as it multiplies. Each one moves with the wearer, catches the light, and makes its own kind of statement.

I’m about to begin my second collection. Can I admit something? I’m not entirely sure what I’m made of as a designer.

Creating a first collection was about asking, Can I do this? Creating my second feels different. It’s asking, Who am I as an artist?

That’s both exhilarating… and a little terrifying.

I wrote a reflection about standing at the edge of this next chapter and the unexpected inspiration that’s leading me forward.
