A Way We Sew

Absolutely not unsupervised behavior. I walk into a fabric store and suddenly my brain is just:

la la la… pretty fabric…
la la la… I definitely need this…
la la la… that bolt is basically calling my name…
la la la… this could be a dress, a jacket, or a whole new personality…

And then I leave with fabric for 7 imaginary projects and no regrets.

According to a very official study I just made up, people who sew are happier, more intelligent, and better looking.

Honestly, it checks out.

Also, the study found that buying fabric “for later” is a completely reasonable life choice, so please update your records accordingly.

I’ve started it in my head, which absolutely counts.

The project hasn’t started, but mentally I’ve sewn it 14 times. 🧵

✔️The fabric must be consulted.
✔️The pattern must be questioned.
✔️The plan must be avoided until it reveals itself.

Who else is currently “preparing like a pro”?

The project is cute.
That one step? Not so much.

“Why is it doing that?” is basically a sewing dialect at this point.

And honestly?
That does not mean you’re bad at sewing.

Usually, there’s just one step that keeps tripping you up — fit, sleeves, zippers, collars, buttonholes, fabric that suddenly has an attitude, whatever it is.
