Custom remodeling. Additions. New home construction. Craftsman Builders - We build dreams!
Monday was demolition day at our latest custom home build in North Seattle. It’s said that demolition machine operators have one of the highest job satisfaction rates in the world. I can see why! In just one day this decaying old house was completely gone.

One of our new projects is getting underway. Demo of the kitchen nook is complete. Excavation work and foundation forms are nearly complete. The next steps are demo of the back half of the roof and getting the new addition and new roof line framed up.
It’s always fun in these early stages to see what was once just a dream on paper actually start to take shape.

We’re hard at work this morning carving this rather large pumpkin.
We’d love to see how your pumpkins turned out, whether large or small. Send us your photos!

Thank you to J&S Plumbing & Mechanical for posting this and for all their hard work moving the main stack and every single piece of plumbing in the lower half of this home. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

Just about finished with this addition and primary bath expansion in Edmonds.
The cooperative design work between the homeowners and our in-house Specs & Selections Coordinator led to some fantastic stylistic choices that kept the budget tight without sacrificing style.

Looks can be deceiving… These floating bookshelves, built for the home of renowned architect Gordon Walker, were quite a bit more difficult to build than they look.
Lining them up exactly with each stair tread and carrying the weight of the books with no visible fasteners using a material that has very little inherent strength (MDF) was an interesting challenge.
It may be difficult to see in this photo, but each stair tread and cabinet top has 3/16” aluminum sandwiched between each layer of MDF.

Whaaat? That’s pretty cool! We’re ready to build you one of these, or any other outrageous creation you can come up with.

Where it all started… this is the school where our founders, Lee and Jens, first got their start in the trades way back in 1992 at the Seattle Central College Wood Technology Center where they both studied Marine Carpentry.
