๐ซ๐ Surprise... we're making Schokokuss!
(or Kรผsse plural!)
Many countries have their own version of this treat - a chocolate covered marshmallow cookie confection. In Germany it's Schokokuss ("chocolate kiss") ๐
Soft, tall swirls of billowy marshmallow meringue on a crisp cookie base, all dipped in chocolate โบ๏ธ
Traditionally it's made with a plain wafer base, but we did our own thing - using a millet flour butter cookie instead. It brings a gentle nutty sweetness (and happens to be gluten free!)

Tart, jammy rhubarb tucked under a buttery crisp miso streusel, on top of moist vanilla butter cake ๐
We'll be rotating our streuselkuchen filling throughout the season - alongside our usual strawberry red bean paste ๐๐ซ - as new fruit comes in โบ๏ธ

On guest espresso right now: a juicy orange bourbon from
The name comes from the color of the coffee cherry when itโs fully ripe - orange, instead of the typical red. This particular lot (a thermal shock process) just so happens to lean into that, with strong notes of orange (the fruit!) ๐
Coincidence? Or do orange coffee cherries and orange citrus fruits share something deeper in flavor? Fun food for thought ๐ค
Speaking of cherries... our seasonal Amaro Cherry Cola is also on the board, if youโre in more of a fizzy, bittersweet mood ๐

๐ธ๐ Amaro Cherry Cola, here for spring!
A little bittersweet, a little bright - made with our house five-spice sour cherry syrup, lemon, and bubbles
A little childhood nostalgia as well - cherry coke with a cocktail cherry on a sword pick (if you were good, you got extra cherries ๐) ๐ก๏ธ
As with many of our drinks, we offer this both alcoholic and n/a. This time with Amaro Lucano (and their non-alcoholic version!), which is what gives the drink its cola note - along with beautifully balanced herbal depth ๐
Thatโs something we care about across the board - our bar program and all of our products. Whether youโre drinking or not, going full caf or decaf, we want the experience to feel just as complete

๐Spring is here and so are the raab, one of our favorite vegetables to celebrate the start of the season
Our savory brick toast is now topped with tender, crisp spring raab ๐ฑ. Tossed with our house chili oil, layered with Chinese sausage, and served on our house-baked milk bread with a flammkuchen cream base

A little vegetable curiosity: you might see it called raab or rabe or rapini
Raab / rabe on their own generally refer to the tender flowering shoots of overwintered brassicas. Rapini (and broccoli rabe) refers to the specific rapini plant, a brassica more closely related to the turnip (and not actually broccoli ๐
)
They're all tender, delicious, and very spring ๐ฅฐ
