The most dreaded words uttered by Stanislavski to his actors were, "I don't believe you." Meaning simply, the scene did not have the ring of truth.

Hello fellow performing artists. My name is Wh**ey Shapiro and I have lived and worked in Seattle for many years. I am starting the Seattle Actors Studio. The Studio will be a free space for actors and filmmakers to work on their craft. I am preparing for post Covid activities (late February/March). Monologue and scene study classes will meet once a week at the Base Experimental Theatre in Georgetown. Eventually I hope to expand the Studio to include screenwriting and filmmaking units. If you are interested in joining the studio please msg and let me know in what capacity you would like to participate. The studio's website is sattleactorsstudio.com and you can google Wh**ey Shapiro to find out more about me. Regards, Wh**ey

You better be a good liar if you want to act. You will be required to lie to the audience about who, where and what you are. You will lie about what you are saying, doing and feeling. However, a good liar does not necessarily have the ability to develop a rich character. Wh**ey Shapiro

Here's what happens in a play. You get involved in a situation where something is unbalanced. If nothing's unbalanced, there's no reason to have a play. If Hamlet comes home from school, and his dad's not dead and asks him if he's had a good time, it's boring. But if something's unbalanced, it must be returned to order. Mamet

Acting is the most personal of our crafts. The make-up of a human being - his physical, mental and emotional habits - influence his acting to a much greater extent than commonly recognized.
