As inflation worsens, maximizing one's credit scores and profile increases one's access to many financial, professional, and personal services and offers. Everyone benefits from maximizing their credit.

True credit repair is an interactive process. Those claiming to repair credit instantly for a low fee, are simply sending out contest letter (called submission in industry parlance) in hopes that many will not respond. Many large creditors have learned to respond to such form letters with automated form responses that credit bureaus often recognize as sufficient responses. This is both not effective, and not permanent.

Recently I have come across "credit repair" which is offered for thousands of dollars for instant repair. They do this by using someone who has exceptional credit, and add the repair candidate to all of the accounts to piggy back off of the good credit and instantly establish a better credit history. The harsh reality is that if the "new" credit history is used to obtain new credit, it constitutes fraud. While the odds of getting caught are relatively low, it remains illegal to use such history to obtain new credit.

Watch out for illegitimate offers for credit repair. They should know the law and never advise you to falsify any information ever.
