Katey is an extraordinary entrepreneur, mother, previous box recipient and friend of Plant-Based Food Share! Here’s what she has to say about PBFS-

How did you hear about PBFS?:
I met Chef Ariel through the organization Families of Color Seattle. At the start of the pandemic, I was receiving amazing restaurant quality food from Chef Ariel, Chef Makini Howell and others. I am a long time vegan so I am always seeking out connections for plant based food. Ariel first helped me get a grocery card and some restaurant quality food for my kids. It was so helpful for us during the traumatic transformation that was happening when things closed down last March. Being a single mom, I no longer had the support of others being around our family to help out, especially when schools closed down.

What does PBFS mean to you?:
To me, Plant-Based Food Share means a healthy community. A healthy community starts by people working together with teamwork and providing ways to make fresh and healthy foods accessible to everyone in the community. Chef Ariel does an amazing job creating the entrepreneurial vision through food. I currently own my own business (http://www.kateyskindness.com/) focused on childcare, pet care, house cleaning. In my business I am always trying to emphasize community and collaborate and connect those within the community. I look forward to collaborating with PBFS in the future in many other ways!
