NEW OFFERING: Singing on Testosterone Info Session FOR TEACHERS! 🗣️🎶🏳️‍⚧️

Open to voice teachers and coaches, choir directors and music directors, SLPs and voice therapists, and other voice educators! Perfect for those who are currently working with trans and nonbinary singers, or those who would like to be prepared to work with this population in the future.

Singing on Testosterone
An Online Info Session for Educators

Sunday, May 4th, 2025
11 am - 1 pm Pacific (US)

Can’t make it live?
No problem! All registered participants will receive a video recording.

Join transgender voice teachers Eli Conley and Peter Fullerton to learn about the effects of testosterone therapy on the singing voice! Together, Eli and Peter have over 25 years’ combined experience working with trans singers. At this training you’ll learn about the stages of voice change that occur during the first few years of testosterone therapy, some common challenges for singers going through this vocal transition, and learn exercises and strategies for supporting them during and after their voice drop. We will compare transgender transition with testosterone to the voice change that happens during cisgender male puberty (hint: they are very similar!), and look at several case studies featuring singers re-learning how to use their instrument in their new lower range. There will also be dedicated time for questions from attendees.

To register, click the link in .teaching’s bio or visit tinyurl.com/singingonT and click on the “FOR TEACHERS” button in the upper left!

Posting a flyer on behalf of Sam Dooley: “Good morning, my name is Sam Dooley and I am a third year occupational therapy student currently completing my capstone project on a research study titled “LGBTQIA+ identity disclosure within the rehabilitation environment: Experiences of clients and healthcare professionals”. I am looking to recruit participants for an online survey and focus groups and was wondering if your organization would be able to post some information regarding this study on social media platforms. I will also attach a flyer that can be posted to social media sites. Thank you in advance for your consideration!”

Kevin Dorman surgery and healing update:
Surgery went well! Kevin’s team reported a clean excision and successful grafting procedure. 1 day post-op they were already up and about, participating in PT and communicating using AAC.
It’s a difficult and long road but things are looking bright.
Thank you to everyone who’s been sending vibes, well-wishes and financial contributions. All are very appreciated. Please continue to share the love (and go fund me) for our beloved friend and colleague!

Hi Folks: Marie Jette and I organized this GoFundMe for my dear friend and colleague Kevin Dorman ! They have been instrumental in changing how we do gender affirming voice care and our platform at TVI, but now they have lingual cancer and have a surgery next month and a long time of recovery and rehab as the primary income in their household. They need support and I know y’all want to support community in here:
