This is the Cooperstown burger from G&M’s at the Warehouse. Huge well-seasoned burger patty, crispy bacon, sautéed onions, and loaded with Cooper cheese.
Onions were more sautéed instead of caramelized but had good flavor. Bun was fresh and fries were seasoned well. Also came with coleslaw added on the side.
All for $16.75.

This is The Big Pig Burger from The Fire Pit on Suscon Rd. in Pittston. This meal in itself is topped with our pulled pork, American cheese, and house made slaw. It’s kinda like a Carolina style BBQ (which is my go-to)
Comes with fries at just $17.
The rest of the menu has a nice mix of house done BBQ as well as basics and a deli case of prepared items for any appetite.
Dining area is small but takeouts are welcome.

Mid week dinner brought me to Dooley’s in Old Forge.
This is their Dooley’s Double Smash Burger. Two smashed patties, American cheese, fried onions, pickles, and their signature burger sauce. Comes with choice of fries, tots, waffle fries, or sweet potato fries,
Everything was fresh, seasoned well and full of flavor. The only downfall I had was the bun was cold, straight from the cooler cold. Toasting it might have been oversaw because it was very busy.
Went on a Wednesday where these are only $10 (in house only)
Menu has a nice selection of burgers and other bar favorites.

(I know, I need to learn how to take better photos)
This monster is the Deluxe Cheeseburger from Joyce’s Cafe in the Minooka section of Scranton.
It’s a common bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a nice size burger patty. Not sure where the buns are from but was super fresh
Only $11 with fries on the side.

I went greasy spoon style this week and got a Texas Cheeseburger from Caramano’s in West Scranton. Fresh pressed patty, grilled onions, spicy brown mustard, and homemade chili sauce. Had with fries and a can of soda for just $12.
Nice small spot serving only breakfast and lunch. Actually one of the best breakfast spots in the area.

This week I went to Food & Fire in Moosic and got their Blue Smoke Burger.
8 ounce patty, crumbled bye, smoked provolone, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion. I added their sweet mustard as well.
Served with fries and pickles that were a tad spicy.
The menu has a good selection of burgers and their smoked items are great. I suggest their smoked turkey. Great selection of beers and their whiskey dinners in the past are worth trying out.

This is one of those moments where you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.
This is the Double Smash Burger from Mutant Brewing and it is fantastic.
Two smashed beef patties, yellow American cheese, bacon jam, and their burger sauce (seems like a chipotle aioli) on a toasted potato roll.
Patties were cooked perfectly and not dry. Bacon jam had a nice sweet and smokey flavor.
This burger was recently awarded first place in Rock 107’s Burgermania and had my vote
Wednesday’s are burger nights here and runs for only $8. Other days for $12
The bar itself has a fun vibe and the rest of the menu looks great.

It’s been a while. This week I checked out The Nyx in Clarks Summit.
Their menu has a nice variety of burgers with very diverse flavor profiles. This one is called The Cooper. 8 oz beef patty, cooper cheese, fried pickles, and horseradish sauce.
The patty could have used a bit more seasoning but the flavors of the fried pickles and horseradish are prominent.
Came with fresh cut fries. Other sides available.
Well worth returning for.
9/10. $17

One of my go-to’s at Three Jacks Burger Bar in Dunmore is the Crystal Blue Persuasion. It’s a 6 ounce patty that is ground in house with blue cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato, and onions braised in red wine reduction on a brioch bun. Served with house cut fries.
Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My only aversion is that the patty is thick and isn’t wide. It makes the burger stand tall but kinda difficult to eat.
Went well with a Blue Moon.

I went low-key tonight and stopped at Salerno’s Cafe in Old Forge. Of course I ordered pizza, but a burger from a bar/cafe never disappoints.
Their menu only has a hamburger or cheeseburger but they let you dress it up however you like. I topped it with the basics; lettuce, tomato, and onion. Burger patty was a good size, at least 6 ounces.
Burger was only $7. Added fries for $5.
Everything was fresh. Could have used some seasoning but overall it was a nice filling meal.
