Sharing Justice Kagan’s impassioned and I impressive dissent. This is the light in the darkness of the SCOTUS majority decision to gut the Voting Rights Act. The work of our Democracy never ends. We must do all we can to assure that minorities are not again marginalized. This is urgent. No going back!

Justice Elena Kagan’s powerful dissent to the Supreme Court’s decision to gut the Voting Rights Act:

“The Callais requirements have thus laid the groundwork for the largest reduction in minority representation since the era following Reconstruction.”

So proud that our Speaker of the House of Delegates is so good at articulating a vision for our democracy that is absolutely needed right now.
