We are a 6 generation family owned and operated Wheat, Milo, Corn, and Soybean farm in central western Kansas.

A bit of a shower stopped us in the field for a bit, time to submit photo #1 from this year’s wheat harvest for photo contest. Can’t beat western Kansas sunsets.
It’s soybean harvest on the farm today! Taking a break from the last acres of irrigated corn and Dryland milo. Even seeming some pheasants and hawks enjoying the evening. Thankful for a productive day!

Wheat harvest is chugging along! For the dry winter and early spring we had, we are very aware of and thankful for the Lord’s provision in a great wheat crop!

Things have been hustling along this spring! The Lord has blessed the us with some great moisture, views, and opportunities to learn and teach on the farm! Planting will resume as soon as we can get back in the fields!

Corn going in the bin last fall. This will be loaded back on trucks to be hauled to local cattle feeders in February and March to grow some tasty burgers and steaks!

Last pass for the night!

Had a big helper while picking up seed wheat this morning!

Planting milo on this windy day. At least the wind keeps old glory flying!

Social distancing farmer style today by feeding some 2020 corn plants!

Corn harvest has officially begun!
No-Till dryland corn being planted this afternoon just into Lane County. This field was wheat in 2016, Milo in 2017, and corn in 2018 before staying in corn for 2019. Residue has made drying out a slow process after amazing spring rains but I always love a good bed of cover on our soil to shade the ground and lessen effects of western Kansas wind.

Some shots from this spring on the farm! Corn is going in the ground, lagoons have ducks that might set up permanent residence, and more rain in the forecast! Are we sure we’re still in western Kansas, Toto?

It’s soybean harvest on the farm today!

Dryland corn harvest continues this afternoon! Soybeans were still a few points too wet so the picking continues!

It’s a great end to day 1 of fall harvest!

C**t is out making sure moisture sensors are working this morning! Corn is off to the races!

It’s a busy time on the farm! Most corn is up and off to the races, soybean planting is about finished, what wheat survived the hail is filling heads and of course, there’s been a few cool passengers in the cab with us this week!

Corn planting is finally running full speed! Planting into 2017’s soybean residue (well, what the wind left for us!)
Here’s to a great planting season for everyone out there!

Soybeans are looking great! They’ll look even better in the bin! Harvest 2017 is rolling along!

Dryland wheat is all in the ground, a lot is up and growing. Dryland corn is coming out with great results! Soybeans are ready and harvest will start tomorrow. Short to say, it’s a busy time of year. God has richly blessed us at Ramsey Farms this year!

Wheat is going in the ground today! With the forecast of some good rains this weekend, we'll be working hard to get some acres covered!
Of course, there's the mandatory picture! C**t likes his red tractors!

Doing our best to stop wheat streak Mosaic this morning and killing our volunteer wheat. We'll be planting 2018's wheat crop in several weeks! Late summer is a beautiful time!
I'm guessing the kids are going to run out of ideas to occupy themselves on the combine soon... but it's a great time!

Wheat harvest 2017 is officially a go! So thankful for a crop to harvest after many hardships during the growing season. Prayers for a safe and bountiful harvest are much appreciated!

And just like that, planting is done for 2017! Now onto wheat harvest!

Milo planting continues today! C**t (resident farm pup) decided he had enough cab time and has been making laps around the field!
Live from daddy daughter date on the tractor for !
Anyone game for a Facebook live broadcast from soybean drilling? I'll aim to go live at 11:30 CDT and see if I can answer any questions (and not bore everyone to death!).

Farm Fact for the day:
Today we are planting soybeans into last year's corn stubble and for every mile we drive, the planter precisely plants 842,242 soybean seeds.

Planting the last field of irrigated corn today. (Almost too) great moisture to plant into, but thankful for every bit of it!

Still rained out from planting corn and beans so we're out scouting for rust in wheat. Hopefully this crop gets the chance to finish... 2017 wheat crop will have a great story to tell if it does!

We hope everyone is staying warm and well on this blessing of a Sunday! The cold and snow might not be ideal for our wheat crop but this system has given us great moisture to go into spring planting soon. This is some of the wettest snow I've ever seen!

Top dressing wheat today! Hoping and praying that we'll get some moisture this week to get everything watered in!
Presenting findings from our sorghum Row spacing study at with Brent Rendell.
We will be going live for the first time shortly, presenting results from our 2016 Sorghum Row Spacing Study at . Tune In!
