🖤 MUTUAL AID REQUEST — FEED THE 518 🖤

Last month, we were able to feed around 40 people in our community.

This month, we’re trying to double that.

Our goal is to raise $500 to feed approximately 80 people/students for our next distribution.

Here’s the plan:

📅 Friday, May 22nd — We’re hoping to provide meals directly to students who may not have access to hot lunch (pending connection with a local school)

📅 Saturday, May 23rd — If we’re unable to coordinate with a school, we will still be outside in Schenectady, providing meals directly to the community

Either way, the mission stays the same:
No one eats last. No ID. No barriers.

We’re building this in real time, and we need the community’s support to make it happen again.

🖤 COMMUNITY UPDATE — FEED THE 518 🖤

For our next distribution, we’re continuing our mission of feeding the community — but this time, we’re putting a special focus on kids in need.

There are children right here in the 518 who can’t afford hot lunch or may not have consistent meals at home. That’s something we can’t ignore.

So for this upcoming event, Feed The 518 will be providing meals to youth while still supporting unhoused and food-insecure community members.

No child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.

This is what mutual aid is about — stepping in where the system falls short and taking care of each other.

🎉 WE DID IT — GOAL REACHED 🎉

Because of this community, Feed The 518 has officially reached our fundraising goal for our first food distribution.

Your donations, shares, and support made it possible for us to secure hot meals and fruit cups that will be served on March 21st from 1–4 PM in Albany.

A special thank you to Caribe Spanish Restaurant and Sports Bar for partnering with us to help make this distribution possible. We’re proud to work with a local, family-owned restaurant that believes in feeding community with dignity.

We only need $125 more by next Thursday to secure the meals for our March 21st event in Albany.
