Yesterday was such a fun day for both our guests and staff as The Gilded Age returned to film in our neighborhood—and right here at the Inn! We were so delighted to welcome the cast and crew back. There’s something truly magical about seeing a story come to life in the historic Stockade District… and inside the Inn itself, which probably has just as many stories to tell.

We can’t wait to see how the story continues in Season 4! With more filming happening in the neighborhood, we’re thrilled to once again host the talented actors and hardworking crew bringing it all to life.

While we can’t share many photos (you know… movie magic rules 😉), stop by for a visit—or better yet, stay a night—and we’ll happily share some behind-the-scenes stories with you.

What a truly incredible and full weekend at the Stockade Inn!

We are so grateful for the energy, joy, and sense of community that filled our spaces over the past few days. From a very successful Schenectady Art Night—celebrating the beautiful work of Ellen Senisi & Steve Kowalski—to hosting meaningful gatherings throughout the weekend, it was a pleasure to welcome so many guests.

We were honored to host the Union College Women’s Lacrosse team for their end-of-year celebration luncheon—such a wonderful group to celebrate. We also welcomed Union College alumni marking their remarkable 50th Reunion, a milestone filled with memories, connections, and pride.

In addition, we extend our appreciation to The Schenectady Foundation for an inspiring evening through the Creative Changemakers Circle. Stories like Tiffany Caldwell’s “Blight to Light” remind us of the power of community, vision, and collective action right here in Schenectady and our very own - Mary Claire O'Connor, who presented the vision for growth, opportunity, and emergence.

Thank you to all of our guests, partners, artists, and our incredible team for making this weekend so special. We are proud to be a place where people come together—to celebrate, to connect, and to build something meaningful.

🌿 Spring Restoration at the Stockade Inn 🛠️
With spring arriving in Schenectady, we’re excited to be back outside continuing the restoration of the Stockade Inn.

Last year brought meaningful progress on the cornice and exterior walls. This season, we’re focusing on areas that likely haven’t been touched in nearly 100 years. The work is detailed and intentional—carefully removing rust, repairing missing elements, and repainting to restore the building’s historic character.

It’s a labor of love, and with each step, the Inn continues to look sharper and more vibrant.
