One thing we've learned over the years:

The people closest to the work usually know where the problems are.

- They know which parts never fit quite right.
- Which welds require a second pass.
- Which process slows everyone down.
- Which workaround became "the way we've always done it."

When manufacturers start talking about automation, it's easy to focus on technology.

The better conversations usually start somewhere else.

With the people running the job every day.

They've been living with the problem long before anyone started looking for a solution.

Production stopped. Now what?

It's a question every manufacturer hopes they never have to answer.

When a line goes down, every minute matters. Production targets don't pause. Deadlines don't move. Customers don't stop waiting.

That's why support matters.

When troubleshooting means calling one supplier for the robot, another for the power source, and someone else for the software, valuable time gets lost.

The best partnerships aren't measured when everything is running smoothly.

They're measured by what happens when it isn't.

That's how Starland Metals' automation journey began.

Not with a major expansion. Not with a facility full of robots.

One used CLOOS system.

What started as a single robot grew into an operation where 98% of production is automated.

The lesson isn't that every shop should automate 98% of its production.

It's that every automation journey starts somewhere.

▶️ If you could automate one process in your operation, where would you start?

Every job is different.

The deadline isn't.

That's life in a job shop.

Different parts. Different customers. Different requirements. The work changes constantly, but the expectations stay the same: quality parts delivered on time.

That's why flexibility matters. Not just in your people, but in your processes.

The best shops find ways to stay efficient without sacrificing quality, no matter what comes through the door next.

What is the biggest challenge facing job shops today?

The best people in manufacturing never stop learning.

Every new process, every new challenge, every new technology is another opportunity to improve.

The longer someone works in this industry, the more they understand that experience isn't about having all the answers. It's about staying curious enough to keep asking questions.

The strongest teams are built on people who share what they've learned, learn from one another, and never stop looking for a better way.

That's how knowledge moves from one generation of manufacturers to the next.

Thinking about automation?

Start where it makes sense.

Not every manufacturer needs a fully automated production line on day one. For many shops, cobot welding is a practical first step toward improving consistency, throughput, and workflow without completely changing the operation overnight.

The best automation strategy is the one that fits your process, your workforce, and your goals.

That’s why we approach automation from a welder’s perspective first.

Today we remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice made possible the opportunity to build, work, create, and contribute freely every day.

The freedom to build is worth protecting.

From all of us at CLOOS North America, we remember and honor those who gave everything.

Everybody wants production to move faster.

Then somebody tries to save a few minutes at the start of the shift.

A part gets rushed through prep. Something gets forced into place instead of being fixed correctly. Everybody tells themselves it will be “good enough.”

By lunchtime, operators are fighting the same issue on every part coming through the line.

Now, production is slower than it was when the shift started.

The shortcuts usually show up later.

If rework, downtime, or consistency issues are slowing production down, let’s talk shop.

In agriculture, the work does not slow down because conditions get tough.

Equipment is expected to perform through long hours, rough environments, and tight production windows. That kind of reliability starts long before the machine reaches the field.

It starts with weld quality. Process consistency. And systems built to hold up season after season.

The work is demanding. The equipment should be too.

Anybody can install a system.

What matters is what happens after production starts.

New parts come in. Programs get adjusted. Operators run into issues nobody saw during setup. And when production stops, nobody wants excuses. They want the line running again.

That’s why support matters.

Our service team spends a lot of time helping customers keep production moving long after startup. Troubleshooting issues. Answering questions. Helping teams solve problems before they turn into downtime.

That’s what CLOOS Cares means to us.
