The Taiko TK-18 is a clone of the Singer 18. Do you notice anything unusual about this machine?

Thanks, I hate it.
*My shop is uninsulated. The cold won't hurt the machines, but the humidity is damaging long-term. During humid parts of the year, customer machines stay inside the house when they are not being worked on.

Don't drop your carbon pile foot pedals, folks. At least now I have some new carbon discs for future repairs..

What's this? Me working on one of my own machines?? Yes, it's true. I do not own a single sewing machine that I can actually use. But all that is about to change..

PDX Vintage Sewing Machines is now PNW Vintage Sewing Machine Rescue! A little over one year ago, I moved from Milwaukie Oregon to the beautiful hills of Scappoose Oregon. This new name more accurately describes what I do--helping to rescue vintage sewing machines from all over the Pacific Northwest!

Here are a few of the last machines to have come through the shop in 2023.

This lovely Kenmore needs a tune-up, but could be ready in time for Christmas! All steel gears, with a basic zigzag and straight stitch, plus a few utility stitches. Great for beginners or anyone looking for a strong no-frills machine. $140.
