Red Clay Animal Rescue
Savannah, GA Red Clay Animal Rescue is a small but powerful force in the collective effort to end pet homelessness and suffering in the Savannah area.
We are a licensed nonprofit organization. We provide care on a small scale to homeless animals with treatable injuries or illnesses, as well as seniors, usually from within the regional shelter system, who would otherwise be euthanized. Additional priorities include facilitation of animal transfers and transports (from high kill/poor live release rate facilities to facilities and rescues with very high adoption rates, often in other states). These transfers very frequently require that the pets receive some medical intervention (sterilization, infectious disease testing, vaccinations) before transfer/transport.
100% of your donations will be used for homeless animals in need.

Please email [email protected] with any questions or interest in Junior!!
8-year old male neutered front declawed cat seeking immediate adoption or long term foster. He is reported to be very friendly. His owner died and the family member currently housing him may have to euthanize him. Please contact me if you'd like to adopt this cat, or can provide a foster home longer term (it tends to take a while to adopt out senior animals).

8PM update: he made it! He's in recovery and the surgery went great. Incredibly, none of his internal organs were damaged and he should be fine now that the arrow is out. Thank you to everyone who donated.

This week has seen a series of significant emergencies. Today there is another, and I am asking for emergency funds again. This is Arrow, an approximately 1 year old intact male very friendly cat with no microchip. He was brought into the ER by animal control. An unknown person who should be rotting in jail right now shot him with an arrow and it’s penetrating his abdomen. Surgery needs to happen today and will happen today. I know many people have donated this week for Ellis’s amputation, which was also a true emergency. But I am asking again because there is no accumulation of adoption fees that can ever cover the costs of things like this.

Salem is a stray kitten who was pulled from animal control on Tuesday, the same day as Ellis. He also has a severe injury to his leg, but it wasn't such a huge emergency, and we should be able to save the leg. He is having surgery on Monday. Salem is VERY FRIENDLY and has a lot to say, about everything. He should be ready for adoption before Halloween!

Adopted!
Bug the kitten is another Mighty Orphan Kitten, with a medical grant of $900! Bug was found crying in the street by a good samaritan. He had a bad eye due to prolonged upper respiratory infection. The person dropped Bug off at the ER, who let us know he was in good shape, aside from his perforated cornea. We agreed to take Bug in and give him a healthy start. We got his weight up and got him into surgery! The surgery was success! Bug is a handsome 10 week old male, up to date on vaccines and deworming meds, neutered and ready for adoption. Thank you Orphan Kitten Club, (a national nonprofit organization with a mission to innovate pediatric care and advance protections for neonatal kittens) for helping with Bug's surgery.

Foster found. A veterinary technician stepped up, yet again.
Seeking a foster home for a 10 year old cat who used to be an indoor only house cat. His owner died and he was put out when the house was sold? Because that's a thing you do with a cat. His name is Theo. Please contact me if you can foster this cat. He obviously needs some care.

Emergency amputation funds needed, trying to raise $1000 tonight. This is Ellis, a senior cat (estimate 12-14 years old) pulled from animal control today. She was found several days ago with her leg caught in a fence and has been impounded for the stray hold (no owner came forward and she is not microchipped).
She cannot use her right hind leg at all, but there is no fracture—the leg is ice cold and has lost blood supply, and she needs an amputation urgently. Hard to even imagine how painful that is (she’s on an opioid pain medication now). Help us help her.
