Accessibility is a journey, not a destination.
Access Granted A monthly newsletter that covers digital accessibility advice, tech tips, special service offers and other fun stuff.
We'll have to wait for the reality distortion field to dissipate to be sure, but it's clear that AI--sooner rather than later--is going to seriously upset the current balances in the fields of assistive technology training and digital accessibility.
If you're disabled like me, the shift is going to do a lot of good.
If you're an AT trainer and you--unlike me--are not embracing AI and learning how to use it, you will most likely find yourself in the position of being obsolete. Yesterday's WWDC keynote made that abundantly clear.
The video features a static image with text and geometric designs. A neon sign in a yellow and green glow says "A 1960S" inside a border. Below the neon sign, text in a yellow font reads "DIGITAL ACCENT WITH ROSIUDSENI". The background is dark green with several yellow lines forming triangles and squares. Small white dots are scattered throughout the background, resembling stars.
A high-energy song plays throughout the short clip. A group of people sing together in a chorus, "Together on Facebook, accessibility wins! Quality access, equal access for all, thank you for supporting accessibility." The music is upbeat and includes a variety of instruments, creating a celebratory and inclusive atmosphere.

One of the skills I hadn't realized I picked up until someone asked me for assistance with it is my ability to prompt AI to get the results I want within the first few tries.
With that in mind, I present a Quickstart guide for prompting AI for accessible results. Stay tuned for my deep dive coming later this month.
Accessible AI Prompts Quickstart | Control Alt Access A practical quickstart for using AI prompts to create more accessible content.
