About a year ago, the Fermly team traveled down to Santa Fe, NM, to collaborate with our good friend John Rowley. What we came up with is a dry finishing saison with classic phenolics and esters. The nose boasts wild strawberries and rhubarb flavors for a subtle twist. Luxurious aroma and brisk with vivid flavor, this brew ends with a dry and slightly hoppy finish. Pleasant acidity helps with bringing all the notes from mixed fermentation together for a wonderful, balanced sour beer. Where can I enjoy this beer and tea “Ceremony,” you ask? We’re proud to be a part of WeldWerks Brewing Co.'s Invitational 2022 on June 25th in Greeley, CO, and bottles are available at the Rowley Farmhouse tasting room.

Rowley Farmhouse Ales is small, independently-owned brewery focused on brewing rustic farmhouse and Brettanomyces is our muse. Wow that's a mouthful.
This is the official page for Rowley Farmhouse Ales. We are an independently-owned farmhouse-style brewery with a focus on mixed culture fermentation. All our fermentations will take place in oak vessels, and in most cases with our house mixed culture that our brewmaster has been developing for quite some time. Spontaneous fermentation is likely to occur as conditions allow. Our inspirati

BLT with avocado and a fried egg for good measure. Vegetarian option is available as well featuring veggie bacon strips. Who’s hungry?

Our Greek inspired quesadilla with local El Rito lamb, Laz Ewe 2 Bar Goat Dairy (couldn’t tag these amazing folk) goat cheese and organic baby spinach, we call Sonora-Kopita. It’s so good, and as an added benefit, it supports local ranchers and farmers.

Come hang. 7 years! Cheers, Santa Fe!

Come see me at one of the best beer festivals of the year. I’m bringing barleywine! See you there! XOXO John

Not the best pic, but I want to thank everyone who nominated us for the 2023 Local Hero award, as well as the staff at Edible for putting on a great event recognizing all the hard work of all the past and present award winners! We are grateful and humbled by the recognition. Local awards are indeed the most germane, as our locals are indeed our most important customers. Congrats to all the winners, and thanks to everyone who has supported us in our mission to make the best beer and food we can manage to make. Thank you, New Mexico! And thank you Arroyo Vino!

Happy Market weekend everyone! When you're ready to not be downtown, come and join us. FYI our off the cobb Elote is back for the summer.

New dessert alert! Made to order fresh fruit crepe: warm crepe with piñon caramel inside, organic local cherry compote, fresh peaches and whipped cream. Come get a taste while it lasts!

Barbie loves Ken?

Happy 30th anniversary ! Hell of a great birthday party today! Thank you for having us! If you came to try our beer, I hope you had a great taste! XOXO John

Thank you, Santa Fe! We love you too! XOXO your RFA family

Elote is back! Come get it while the corn is flowing. It’s not on the menu just yet, but is available as a special for 13 bucks until we print the next batch of menus. Cheers!

Tomorrow, we are releasing on draft a Belgian-style dubbel we are calling Ooh-La-La, and it sure is tasty! Since it happens to also be the glass release day, we decided to give you a free glass with every purchase of a full sized pour of any of our own specialty draft beers (like Ooh-La-La) or any in house bottle. These glasses are super cool, so come break up your week with a killer brew, and take home a killer glass. See you tomorrow!
Happy Independence Day!
I've been meaning to write a short post, but I wanted to wait until I had a new head brewer to announce, but it appears the paper beat me to the punch in one part of said announcement. Since the word is getting out, they have forced my hand. If I don't say something now, y'all will keep blowing up my phone, which is not something I relish. Gimme back that landline!
Our head brewer, Jennifer Treu, has accepted the head brewer position at the almost open Nuckolls Brewing Company, opening soon at the Railyard. They made her an offer we couldn't compete with, which is just how it is sometimes. We are sad to lose her, as she has been a wonderful addition to our team at Rowley Farmhouse Ales, and I want to thank her for all her contributions to our brewing and service efforts. Jen will always be a part of the family at Rowley, and I would encourage everyone that sees her to thank her for all her hard work. We wish you all the best in your new position, Jen!
I have made an offer to someone I won't name at this time who will hopefully become our head brewer, but that is still in a pending state, so I cannot comment on that any further at this time. In the meantime, Jen is a classy woman, and won't be leaving us high and dry, and has offered to aid in the transition and will be found working at both places until we get our ducks in a row.
It's been a hard late spring (with respect to our brewing efforts) with the loss of our trailers, but they did manage to catch the arsonist recently. He says he didn't mean for that to happen, but it did. Hopefully this individual will find the help he needs. That said, our insurance company is awesome and has been very willing to work with us to get our situation sorted out, and we will be brewing again soon. We had a decent inventory of beer at the time, so we were really lucky in that respect, but I promise new Scully is on the way, just not tomorrow.
That's all I have time for now, but I'll be sure to keep everyone in the loop as things solidify, but in the meantime, come try one of Treu's greatest beers, Built to Chill, which we just put on yesterday. It'll be sure to satisfy!
Thanks Jen for all you've given us, and we all wish you a great time at your new place.
Cheers,
John

Happy Independence Day, y’all! We are open regular hours today, but you’ll have to go elsewhere if you want ranch dressing and/or hot dogs. We’ve got only the good stuff, ready to make as soon as you order it. Otherwise, enjoy your celebrations with your loved ones! And please be kind!

Today, we are tapping our latest lager, Built to Chill. Built to Chill is a Vienna-style lager mashed with a large bolus of limes for a more organic method of mash acidification. We brewed this beer with our friends earlier this year with our friends at . It has been gracefully lagering since then (definitely not rushed!) and will be a flavorful addition to our summer draft lineup. Come get a taste! Cheers!

Thank you and all those who nominated us for this honor! We are humbled by this recognition, and thank everyone for their continued support! We simply want to make the best beer and food that we can, and are thankful that people are digging what we do. We realize we do not take the path of least resistance, but the best things take their sweet time to come around. Cheers! https://issuu.com/ediblesantafe/docs/ediblenm-latesummer2023

You may have noticed we moved our iconic rose bush a couple months back as it wasn’t doing great under the awning we built a few years back. The awning is great, and saves us regularly (it actually rained last evening!), but we wanted to save the rose bush if possible. It’s looking a bit meager but hopefully, it will do better in its new location. Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend!

For our special Wednesday beer, we are tapping 2 different beers today! First off, for you crazy stout heads who drink stout all year young (you know who you are), we’re putting on a keg of 2023 KBS. Yes it’s tasty. We’ve also got our collab with going on for the saison crowd. The beer in question is called Ceremony, and uses a mixed culture fermentation, and was dry-hopped with Boulder Blues tea (a mix of Chinese Dragonwell and Japanese Sencha tea), and is likely as funk-forward as you might experience. It’s got notes of strawberry and rhubarb, a bit of bleu cheese, and a solid brettanomyces leaning flavor set. Check out Fermly Craft Beer Labs for all your craft beer analysis needs. Cheers!
We are seeking part time servers. We are looking for friendly, outgoing, and experienced servers to join our team. We have several lunch and dinner shifts available. If interested please message us your resume or stop on by to fill out an application. Thank you.

We are closed today for an employee appreciation event. Our apologies for the inconvenience! We will be bacj to regularly scheduled hours tomorrow, June 15th, from 11:30 am to 9 pm. Until then, stay safe out there!

Today’s Wednesday rare beer tapping is the Double DBA batch 10,000 on draft. To properly celebrate this powerhouse brewery’s 10,000th batch, they brewed a batch of their delightful Double DBA, then barrel-aged said batch in freshly dumped bourbon barrels. Talk about kicking it up a notch! Come get a taste while it lasts! Cheers!

Recently, we re-enacted the special Wednesday tappings, as a lot of y’all have been asking for it. We listened! This week we are going heavy into the darkness with the 2023 Parabola, a lovely imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels. This is one of the finest examples of a non-adjunctified barrel-aged imperial stouts, and is the purest form of this lovely style. No marshmallows or bananas here kids! Come and get some while it lasts. As a bonus, we also have a keg gracefully aging in the cellar for Blackest Friday. Cheers!

Rough start to the weekend here at Rowley Farmhouse Ales. We think a drug abusing street person tried to get high under the large trailer in the wee hours of the morning, and lit the trailers on fire. jumped on it and responded quickly, and managed to put out the fire before the building incurred any damage. Luckily nobody was hurt, including the arsonist, who escaped but was caught on camera most likely. This hurts as all our packaging supplies and grain are gone! While we bounce back, we could really use your support in the way of coming out for a beer and a meal. Thank you Santa Fe for all your continued support of our dream to make the best beer and food we can, and please don’t smoke crack! Crack kills!

Today we are releasing the latest iteration of If You Must, which is a mixed culture fermented version of a base similar in composition to Germophile, but is then aged on grape must, then aged in a barrel of the opposite colored wine. This version was brewed with the help of the amazing folks at , who were super generous and provided us both with barriques of their Esprit de Tablas Blanc and Mourvèdre must. The resulting oenobeer is quite delightful! Come get a spritz of your own starting today! Thank you Tablas Creek for your kindness and beautiful wines! Cheers, friends!

Back in 2019, we first released Agent Orange, our take on a Flanders-style red ale. The Flanders-style red is widely considered to be the most wine like of all beers, but one could argue that definition in modern times as we have many oenobeers these days, that were likely not part of the conversation back in the day. Regardless, the first batch of Agent Orange was aged in Apple Brandy casks, and won a silver at the Great American Beer Festival in the wood-and-barrel-aged sour beer category. A portion of that blend was moved to freshly dumped at the time Colkegan barrels from our friends at Santa Fe Spirits, and left to age gracefully for -40 months. The resulting beer is kissed with a hint of smoke from the Colkegan remnants, and exhibits hints of plum preserves, dried cherries, and even that date bar they sell over there in Dateland on the way to San Diego on the I-8. We are dropping this beer today in both draft and 375 mL bottle formats today (both naturally conditioned with wildflower honey) so come get a taste of flavortown in a glass while it lasts! Yeah you know what I’m talking about. Measured pH (unbound H+ concentration) was 3.37, and a titratable acidity measurement (bound organic acid concentration) yielding a value of 14.3 grams/liter. Try this lovely beer with a cheese plate, or the farmers market risotto for a great pairing. Proost!

Happy spring Santa Fe! It’s a beautiful day so swing by and say hi!! XOXO John

Happy Saturday, Santa Fe! Our amazing friends at just brought over this beautiful line caught wild in Alaska King salmon. Come get a taste while it lasts. I know what I’m having on my caesar salad today! Thanks Beck and Bulow!

Today and went down to to brew our collab. The target beer is a white raspberry witbier and pays homage to raspberry wheat and wit, but in a mash up. It’ll be on at the festival on May 13th at . Tickets are going fast on so get onto their site and buy yours before it’s too late. Thanks for hosting Steel Bender!

Happy National Beer day, y’all! Not a pic of our beer, but this was a beer I drank last summer at the Bavarian in Taos. That said, if you’re thirsty today, come celebrate with us, as we’ve got as good a list as you’ll find anywhere in northern New Mexico. Cheers!

NEW APPETIZER ALERT. It’s a fun plate we're calling Piccoli, which is Italian for "little ones". The most accurate description is a green chile cheddar rice tot.
So for 6 bucks, you get little balls of green chile risotto, flash-fried and served with our infinitely tasty Romesco sauce. Pairs fantastically with a tulip of Mountain of Light - Meyer lemon. Come get a taste!

Happy Orval day, y’all!

Juana has been hard at work developing a new green chile chicken enchilada dish that she baked right in the cast iron pan. It takes a bit longer, but it’s well worth the wait versus those generic casserole style versions you’ll find at other places. Come try one if you’re hungry. Cheers!

In honor of International Women’s Day, we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the women of Rowley Farmhouse Ales. Without you, we aren’t whole! Thank you all for all you do!

Luke sat down with Jeffrey to find some clarity on HB 343. Email the listed representatives if you want us to have the ability to ship beer, or if you think we are stupid for proposing such a preposterous idea. The system only works when everyone has their say.
Happy Wednesday!
Legislative Update: Rowley Farmhouse Ales offers another perspective on HB 343 The legislature is close to wrapping up for the 2023 session, but the folks at Rowley Farmhouse Ales asked if I would sit down and have a chat with them about House Bill 343, a bill they are workin…

We are excited to take part in Ex Novo Brewing Company New Mexico's United in Beer Fest with Steel Bender Brewyard, where we will be brewing a fruited wheat collaboration beer. This will be a festival not to miss on Saturday May 13th, and proceeds all go to a great cause. A ton of great beer, all from NM collabs, will be featured. Look for tickets soon, and jump on them!

Thank you for a real good time! Cheers California!

Los Angeles friends! Come see this Saturday! I doubt a session beer festival would be a big hit here in NM, but we dig the idea wholeheartedly. Cheers LA!
We are looking for a part-time (2-3 shifts/week) server to join our team. The ideal candidate has service experience and a friendly & outgoing personality. They can think on their feet, takes direction well and is a great multitasker.
Knowledge of beer styles is a plus!
This is a tipped position, great service = great sales = $$$.
Happy Friday Everyone,
I just wanted to write a quick post as I have a short break before the day gets really rolling. We just released Petite Death, and I wanted to thank everyone who came out thus far to try it. Treu and the team put a lot of effort into this beer, and it shows. It’s not a super aggressive beer, but it still pulls at my heartstrings as its delicate nature is just what you need with a cheese board or perhaps a bowl of Jeffrey’s most excellent clam chowder.
The main thing we have been working on isn’t directly related to beer, but ultimately, if it passes it will give us the ability to get more beer into customers hands, especially those from out of state. We have a lot of friends all around the US, so this change would greatly benefit everyone, and would allow us to focus more heavily on bottling versus canning, which is a substandard package when it comes to the higher carbonated styles of beers we want to brew. The aluminum can is a UV-safe and economical package for your average lager or IPA that isn’t expected to be effervescent, but the same cannot be said for saisons , Berliners, Gose etc. Just ask anyone who suffered though Wes’ first run of Meier. The can is just not able to handle the pressures required for the appropriate carbonation volumes certain styles are best served at.
You may have seen that the lawmakers are in session currently. We have been lobbying for a small change in the law relating to shipping beer. As it stands right now, wineries in New Mexico can legally send wine (up to a case at a time I believe) to their customers throughout the states. Sadly, breweries do not enjoy this same freedom, so we wanted to get the law changed to write in breweries as well. It’s a simple addition, and would require no other changes to a currently existing law that has been working for New Mexico wineries for quite some time.
We want to support HB 343, which will allow for the addition of New Mexico breweries to ship beer nationwide. It’s not a big ask, and will benefit everyone who is a fan of NM beer. If you are also on board with this idea, please ask your favorite New Mexico brewery to support HD 343. If we can get enough breweries on board, there’s a good chance we can get this before a committee. I already know the New Mexico Brewers Guild is on board. Who knows if it’ll make it that far, but you’ll never enact the change you need unless you try. Please email or tag your favorite brewery and ask them to support HB 343.
Thanks for listening! Have a great weekend.
Cheers,
John

For this years Valentine's Day, we wanted to release a special beer, as we love the Hallmark holidays as much as anyone else. We came up with Petite Death, which is our foeder-aged mixed fermentation Petite Blanche base, that was refermented on 300 pounds of organic Montmorency cherries sourced from northern Michigan. May all your deaths be petite, and hopefully quick. Cheers!
