In honor of #NationalPieDay, I took the leftover 🥖 from the Santa Fe Farmers' Market and made bread pudding with dried cranberries, orange zest and cinnamon. Baked it in a pie pan, which counts as pie, right? 😉

This week is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Week and an excellent time to consider finding a CSA near you! When you participate in a CSA, you purchase a share from a farm and as part of your membership, you will receive produce boxes on a regular basis throughout the growing season.

Visit http://bit.ly/33zV639 to view CSA Listings with their locations, availability, and more information.

Most shares are limited and become available at the beginning of the season, but this will vary by the CSA.

As CSA shareholder, you directly support your local farmers and know where your food comes from.

Some CSAs will deliver to your doorstep, while others have set locations and times when you can pick up your produce.

Santa Fe Farmers' Market has been nominated in USA TODAY as a contender for the Best Farmers’ Market! Visit https://bit.ly/3uEvfXd to support them with your vote.
At this time of year, only year-round farmers' markets are available for you to purchase locally grown produce. Most farmers’ markets, farm stands, and CSAs in New Mexico will be open again in spring or early summer.

Use our online Find a Market Locator at farmersmarketsnm.org/find-a-market to find farmers' markets, CSAs, grocery stores, farm stands, and more that have winter hours.

On the Find-a-Market locator, you can apply other filters besides outlets that offer winter hours. The filters are listed above the map and include regions of New Mexico, days of the week an outlet is open, and even if the outlet offers food assistance programs like Double Up Food Bucks New Mexico!

Check out this delicious seasonal winter produce from the Santa Fe Farmers' Market CSA. Becoming a member of a CSA (Community Sponsored Agriculture) is a great way to support your local farmers, try new produce and get to know where your food comes from! CSA’s link consumers directly with local food producers and operates on “shares.” Farms sell a number of shares at the beginning of the season to secure the capital they need in exchange for weekly produce boxes to each share-holding member throughout the season. Memberships are limited, so be sure to inquire about joining a CSA early in the season. Visit farmersmarketsnm.org/resources/shopper-resources/csa-listings for a list of local CSAs and their contact info.⁣
Visit farmersmarketinstitute.org/2021-all-star-farmers to watch the stories of The Santa Fe Farmers' Market 2021 Farmer All Stars! These six farmers are recognized for their hard work, commitment to product excellence, dedication to local agriculture demonstrated by selling regularly at the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market, and contributions to the farming community through mentoring emerging farmers and sharing knowledge with peers.
Celebrate the #WinterSolstice with a meal of winter farmers’ market finds like parsnips, rutabaga, sunchokes & turnips.
