Working on keeping things clean AND disinfected around the house/car/workspace?

There’s a difference between cleaning and disinfecting.

• Cleaning removes dirt, food, liquids, and other impurities from the surface.

• Disinfecting kills microbes on surfaces and objects.

All Together New Mexico

Hello to all my clients 💓 and future clients,

I hope all of you have weathered Covid-19 without much excitement and you have stayed well along with your families. I look forward to hearing about the creative things you did or are doing to keep busy. I'll share a few of mine with you when I see you.

Gov. Grisham has allowed me to reopen my massage practice as of yesterday, June 1st. I want to let you know what I have done to prepare a safe environment for when you are ready to return for your massage.

I have cleaned my office from top to bottom and have purchased many items that will help keep both of us safe while we are together. As many of you already know I schedule each of you with a half hour in between. I will be increasing that to 45 mins just so we have plenty of time to talk about what may be going on with you since we haven't worked together for so long and it gives me time to clean in between clients. I will also be wearing a surgical mask the entire time we are together and I will have plenty of masks to give you one if you would like one. I love all the homemade masks I am seeing around and have a couple myself but they can get very hot as I'm trying to give massage and they are also hard to wear face down in the face cradle for you. When it is time for you to be face down in the cradle if you find your mask is uncomfortable you may take yours off and take my offer for a surgical mask.

I have also purchased disposable face shields I can wear upon request. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible about your safety during your treatment. I will be asking you a few questions before we get started and taking your temperature. I'm sure many of you have already experienced this somewhere along your outings here in SF. I have hand sanitizer in the office for you to use before and after your treatment and as you know there is a bathroom in the building. It is a public bathroom but it is being cleaned every evening now by the cleaning crew and I am wiping it down as best I can before and after each treatment. I have purchased a desk top air purifier (although its on the floor) to constantly clean the air while I'm in the office. I have ordered plastic aprons to wear upon request to provide an extra barrier between you and I if you'd like in case there is some concern that I may be carrying something on my clothing between clients. I also have gloves I can wear upon request.

I will be handling the laundry as recommended by the guidelines. After your treatment your sheets will be put in a canvas bag. I will be bringing those sheets to a local service here in Santa Fe who will do them for me. I felt this was much better since the water at those places is warmer than what I have at home and there is less chance of exposure for myself and for my husband. The canvas bag will be included in the wash with the sheets. I have changed to cotton sheets instead of the flannels I used in the past since the laundry service charges by the pound. I have left the heating pad on the bed so if you get cold there is still the option of a blanket or the heating pad to keep you warm during your massage.

I want to also let you know I have left the Integrative Medicine Clinic I was working at due to the lack of control I have regarding the clients I see there. I am able to control what happens in my private practice so much more. I know all of you and feel I can keep myself safer and therefore you are safer if I just work out of my office. Although there are many changes that needed to occur to keep us all safe, the one thing that hasn't changed for those of you I see in my office is the price of the massage treatment. I will not be raising my rate to accommodate the extra time, effort and supplies. I will continue to take cash and checks but I would prefer to forgo credit cards for awhile. If that is a problem then I will take a credit card or you can also now pay me ahead of time for your massage via PayPal ([email protected]), Venmo (@Sharon-Lewis-63) and Zelle ([email protected] or 5052166247). I also want you to be aware that I have now signed up with Massagebook for online booking. I still prefer you call me to schedule your appointments but if for some reason you would rather do it online then please go to my website at healinghandsofsantafe.com and on the top center you will see "Book Appointment" that will take you to my booking page on Massagebook. If you haven't done this before it will require you to fill out some information and if you would like you can pay me ahead of time for the massage right there.

I care about all of you very much. I know some of you will be anxious to get back in while others may want to take a bit more time. Regardless, I want to welcome you back in a manner you can be sure is safe for both of us. I have included a copy of the Gov's guidelines for reopening all businesses in NM and if you go to page 40 you will see the guidelines I am following. https://indd.adobe.com/view/3f732e94-0164-424d-9ac6-a0ace27e70c8 Thank you for being my clients and I look forward to seeing you when you are ready for your next massage.

Thank you,

Consider using doterra this summer to protect you from bug bits! Some great info. If you need to know how to get yours just PM me!

More powerful bug repellant info!!

Today only... buy Turmeric and Get Purify FREE!!!

And Terrashield is 10% off!

Thank you to my research friend Tamarah Bartmess for this info!!

I did a little digging today and found something significant that I think you too will appreciate when it comes to keeping nasty critters OFF your skin while outdoors.

Pay close attention because this information could save you $$$$ AND unnecessary bug bites.

When I was a kid, my cousins and I would come up with funny commercial tag lines for the OFF bug spray - pretty much because it was a joke and NEVER seemed to do the job it said it should do. Somehow we always felt like we got MORE bug bites because we used it! So an effective bug repellent has always been appreciated since I was a kid.

I've known for a while now that doTERRA's Purify blend is good for itchy bug bites. It has a combination of 6 essential oils:
Lemon Peel,
Siberian Fir Needle,
Citronella Grass,
Lime Peel,
Melaleuca (Tea Tree) Leaf,
Cilantro Herb
So those Mosquito Candles people buy? Yeah, those cost anywhere from $6 - $40! Usually they last between 10-80 hours. The Citronella is what you smell in them that makes you often think of bug repellant.

Citronella is perfect for repelling those darn mosquitos by masking scents that are attractive to insects. What attracts mosquitos to you? Your breath - carbon dioxide, and lactic acid. So if you want to prevent bug bites - just stop breathing and stop moving.... LOL, I kid!

When thinking about what you BREATH or APPLY to your SKIN - you'll want something that does a good job but doesn't cause more problems to your lungs or your skin (aka - the external lung). Quality essential oils makes a difference here for your own wellness and non-toxic lifestyle.

_Moving Along_________
TerraShield is a proprietary blend from doTERRA that includes the following oils:
Fractionated Coconut Oil,
Ylang Ylang Flower,
Tamanu Seed,
Nootka Wood,
Cedarwood Wood,
Catnip Plant,
Lemon Eucalyptus Leaf,
Litsea Fruit,
Vanilla Bean Absolute,
Arborvitae Wood.

I love this blend particularly because of the Lemon Eucalyptus Leaf which has been shown to be JUST AS EFFECTIVE as DEET (but not synthetic) and also the Arborvitae - which is a MUST for any outdoor adventure. The Cedarwood oil is one of my favorites because I grew up climbing the Cedarwood trees surrounding my childhood home and LOVE those memories.

So why Turmeric as a bug repellent? Well, I too was surprised to read this study that mentioned that it, in combination with other oils that are in TerraShield and Purify had a 8 hour protection length from bugs!

ALSO Turmeric oil was both able to prevent a climbing response by ticks and had a longer residual activity than other essential oils in domestic dogs who were in the outdoors.

Imagine this combination of oils (Terrashield/Tumeric/Purify) in a homemade non-toxic soy wax candle or a DIY Bug Spray!

SO awesome!

So with all your adventures this summer - MAKE SURE TO BE PREPARED!

ONE DAY ONLY!! On July 9th you can BUY the Turmeric 15ml oil and get the Purify for FREE for just $28 wholesale. Add to your order the TerraShield spray and get 10% off that too!

When they arrive, just add a few drops of the Purify and Turmeric to your TerraShield spray bottle and you're good to go!!

[01/24/19]   5 Ways Massage Can Improve one's Health
August 31, 2018

Massage therapy can play an important role in one's health regimen. See what the research says about massage for health and wellness.

1. Stress reduction - The longterm effects of stress can take emotional and physical tolls. Massage therapy may relieve stress and conditions associated with it, such as tension headaches.

2. Restful sleep - Research indicates that massage can help improve sleep in those with lower back pain, fibromaylgia, insomnia, pain and other health conditions.

3. Boost mental health and wellness - Research suggests that symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression (all associated with mental health) may be directly affected with massage therapy.

4. Pain management - Pain can negatively affect a person’s quality of life and impede recovery from illness or injury. Research shows massage can help low-back pain, headaches, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and more.

5. Increased range of motion - Elite and recreational athletes alike can benefit from massage therapy. Massage can help reduce muscle tension, improve exercise performance and reduce possibility of injuries.

[09/12/17]   Hello to all who have liked my page so far. I really appreciate it. I'd love to get many more likes so I can reach more people to hopefully come to me for therapy and allow me to prove what 24 years of experience and extensive training can do to help them feel their best. It's why I do this! If you have had any of the therapies I provide would you please post a review? Also... I'm seriosly thinking of becoming certified in reflexology to add to my reportoir of services. I've already attended the intro class and really want to do it. It is pricey though so I need your input. Is reflexology something you would love to experience? Please let me know. Hope to see you again soon or meet you for the first time. Namaste.
