I got in touch with Firefly Strategies about creating a branding logo and letterhead for me. I had a conversation with Rubina about colors, my way of doing business and interacting with others and a few other things. I received 4 images to choose from for my logo. They were all beautiful but one especially stood out to me. I really, really liked it. But when I received the final images for the logo and letterhead I was blown away by the letterhead. Don't do it alone. Ask for help. Marketing and communications has become increasingly difficult for brands, organizations, creatives, and entrepreneurs. Not just because the platforms that we use to market, communicate and promote our work and services have algorithms that are designed to hurt people, they also seem to be changing constantly. It can be exhausting. We get it and we are a MarComm Agency!

Trying to go about getting your marketing done strategically, with thoughtful intent and with a return as well as impact is no easy task. It takes some brainstorming, some planning, some collaboration with individuals that not only live in the world of marketing but also LOVE the work we do. We aren't blind to what's wrong with the industry and we have systems and processes that test the boundaries and push the limits of what's "standard' in this industry...that's how we roll.

But, what we're getting at is, ask for help and get the help you need to do it right. Let us know when you are ready.

2022 Marketing Dos and Don'ts: THE RED PILL VERSION >>>🐇

Okay, so THE MATRIX Resurrections movie might have gone to my head slightly, but I want you to both (a) read carefully and (b) have fun with what I'm sharing!

1. DON'T post MORE to social media. (Post only when it's thoughtfully conceived and serves the well-being of the consumer of that content.)
2. DO develop your own voice and share passionately and when inspired to do so
3. DON'T do what the algorithms are demanding and manipulating you into doing
4. DO design a marketing strategy that is derived from passion and inspiration and with the well-being of the purchaser as the goal
5. DON'T Create content that doesn't consider and enhance the well-being of the consumer of that content
6. DO Re-evaluate whether and which marketing channels embody
your own core values
7. DON'T enable the algorithms to silence the REAL, AUTHENTIC voice that you/your brand represents
8. DO Create content that helps people to truly connect to you/the brand led content
9. DO create marketing campaigns that do not directly generate PROFIT for your company/organization/brand, create campaigns that are focused on the well-being of the consumer
10. DO get off of social media more often and for longer periods of time
11. DON'T play a marketing endgame that doesn't = the LONG game which is of human-kind (the planet says it's going to be just fine!)

Our New Year's resolution is CREATING CONNECTION....and during this endemic that is COVID we are researching some cool new ways to make that happen! There are times social media, the digital and online world can be so draining, but thanks to technology we are SO excited about the possibilities!

Additionally, at the @southwestern_college I took a class on applied Neurobiology and learned some amazing things about how humans connect, and that even in a digital environment we can create a massive and deep connection with other human beings.

We theorize that is happening because we are asked to participate in meetings, classes and webinars where true connection is not facilitated nor encouraged. So, we are taking on the challenge to help CREATE + ACTIVATE CONNECTION in the next events we bring you to you via a digital environment in 2022.

That posting with regularity with less gaps and some semblance of consistency and reliability is going to serve and impact your analytics positively then if you are post heavy for a few weeks and then you have long gaps in between posts and stories.

Additionally, brands, businesses, nonprofits and foundations need to understand what they want to be a recognized authority in. You may have identified a few topics or subjects that you may want to own, start developing content around those ideas and subjects and start gathering more information on those topics from the internet, from peer journals, trade and industry publications, books, blogs, etc and you can repost or reshare content to futher establish your authority.

You also want to create your own space for your voice, ideas, theories and recommendations to exist. Consider creating publishing and sharing content on these three kinds of content:
1. White Papers
2. Blog on your website
3. Opinion pieces

According to Forbes, " The number of women-owned businesses increased nearly 3,000% since 1972 according to the "2018 State of Women-Owned Businesses Report" commissioned by American Express. Not only that but between 2017 and 2018 women started an average of 1,821 new businesses per day in the U.S. With women now making up a whopping 40% of new entrepreneurs, it’s clear that more women are turning to entrepreneurship than ever before."

Additionally, In an average month in the United States, 320 out of every 100,000 adults become new entrepreneurs, according to the Kauffman Foundation's 2018 National Report on Early-Stage Entrepreneurship. And that number continues to rise, with a 4-percentage-point increase since 2013.

42% of those businesses fail due to no market need and 19% who get outcompeted. So it's clear entrepreneurship is on the rise and they need to help with market research and marketing...these are essential aspects of starting, growing and sustaining your business.
