If you haven’t tried R.I.P.P.E.D yet, you may be missing out on a great well-rounded workout that’s right up your alley! Come check out a class on Mondays and Thursdays 6:15pm. Burn over 700 calories WHILE having so much fun! ALL levels welcome!

Its the weekend! Join me for Zumba at 9 Saturday and Strictly Strength Sunday at 10 at Eldorado Fitness Studio. Let's do this!
Hello! I’m excited to be subbing for Stephanie this week M W & F at 7am. Let’s get RIPPED together! ALL levels welcome- come see what it’s all about! 💪🏼
I want to encourage everyone to come to Stephanie's 7:00 a.m. (M,W,F) 50/50 workout class. I know this is early but it's actually nice to get it out of the way first thing in the morning. It's a phenomenal workout that focuses on strength, endurance and balance. Anyone can benefit from this class whether you're wanting to enhance your current routine or are just getting back into a working out. Stephanie is an excellent instructor and skilled at knowing ways to modify every movement for the best results and a safe workout.
Leslie showed me how to use the new stretching tables and I love them! You can use them to stretch (of course!) but also use the foam roller, do ab work and most floor work and it's much softer and cleaner than the actual floor. Very cool!
Really like the new Eldorado Fitness Studio. Got there for the first time this morning and was impressed with the staff, layout, and equipment. Still a work in progress so there were a few small tweaks to be made but that's to be expected. All in all, I think it will be a great new business and addition to Eldorado!!!
Would you please cancel my attendance for the free gently yoga class i signed up for tomorrow. I'm sick and don't want to spread my germs. I'll shoot for next Tuesday. Thank you.
The new classroom is excellent! Come out and do yoga with us! The schedule is basically the same, with some excellent new additions. You can see the full schedule here:
https://eldoradofitnessstudio.com/ Hope to see you soon!

Eldorado Fitness Studio is committed to helping you achieve your fitness goals. Improve your workout, be part of a community, and earn your wings.

Operating as usual

[07/21/21]   Water has been restored. We will open tomorrow at the regular time.

[07/21/21]   Eldorado Fitness will is temporarily closed. The storm in Eldorado took out an important component of La Tienda's water system. Technicians will be out tomorrow, 7/21, to assess the problem. We are told parts are likely available, but given the pandemic and subsequent chip shortage, we are not entirely sure. Check back here for updates.

[02/16/21]   Good morning and happy snow day! We are closed today because staff can't get to work. Shoveling is a great workout! Careful of your back and we'll see you tomorrow.

[10/26/20]   SNOW ALERT: We are closed today, Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
Check back here for weather related updates.

Good morning and happy Tuesday everyone! Full-blown Fall weather is upon us, and the mornings/evenings are getting chilly 🌥❄️🌬🥶 We hope everyone is taking a little extra time to warm up their cars and put on an extra layer or two 🧥🧤🚗🔥 Speaking of chilly: did you know that on this day back in 1988, Stacy Allison became the 1st American woman to scale Mt. Everest? 💪🧗‍♀️🏔🏆
A native of Portland, Oregon, Allison reach the summit 32 years ago today, which at 29,035 feet above sea level is the highest point on earth. As member of the Northwest American Everest Expedition, she climbed the Himalayan peak using the southeast ridge route.
Mount Everest sits on the crest of the Himalayas in Asia, lying on the border between Nepal and Tibet. Called Chomo-Lungma, or “Mother Goddess of the Land,” by the Tibetans, the English named the mountain after Sir George Everest, a 19th-century British surveyor of South Asia. The summit of Everest reaches two-thirds of the way through the air of the earth’s atmosphere, which is about the cruising altitude of jet airliners! Oxygen levels there are very low, temperatures are extremely cold, and weather is unpredictable and dangerous. In fact, about two dozen climbers tragically died in attempts to reach the top of Everest in the 20th century! 😱☠️
Here at the Eldorado Fitness Center, we not only strive for community health, but also to inspire those around us. We hope to see you in the gym soon, and remember to make it a great week! :)

Happy Wednesday everyone! ☀️😁 You know we usually try to keep our posts light-hearted and fun, but today we feel like it's only necessary to address the recent tragic losses of 2 legendary human beings: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Hall-Of-Fame Bears running back Gale Sayers.
A Jewish Brooklyn native, Ginsburg received her B.A. from Cornell University before graduating at the top of her class from Harvard Law School as 1 of only 9 women in a class of about 500 men. Though at first she had difficulty finding employment in her field (mainly due to her gender), once she did her legal career sky-rocketed. In 1972, she co-founded the Women's Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and became the projects General Counsel the very next year. In 1993 she became only the 2nd woman to ever serve on the Supreme Court, and held the position until her death just 5 days ago. She became such a beloved public figure, she was even affectionately dubbed "The Notorious RBG", similar to the rapper "Notorious BIG" who was also from Brooklyn.
Sayers lived a different yet equally impactful life in many ways. Nicknamed the "Kansas Comet" after playing football at University of Kansas, He went on to play in the NFL for the Chicago Bears. Though he had a fairly brief career of 7 seasons due to injuries, he was selected to the Pro Bowl 4 times, and eventually inducted into the Hall Of Fame. While those are wonderful accomplishments, many believed that his true accolades were found off the field, specifically with his friendship with teammate Brian Piccolo. In 1967, Brian and Gale became the first in*******al roommates in the NFL in training camp and on road trips. They developed a very close friendship through Brian helping Gale with his injury rehabilitation, and Gale being at Brian's side when Brian was tragically diagnosed with cancer, and his subsequent death in 1970. Gale wrote in detail of this experience in his autobiography "I am Third", and it was the inspiration for the film "Brian's Song" starring Billy Dee Williams and James Caan.
The stories of these people are ones written in hard work, perseverance, compassion and determination. They are both true inspirations on our society, in their own rights. We hope that you will join us in this moment of honoring and remembering their legacies. Have a wonderful day, and we hope that this post inspires you to inspire others, just like "The Notorious RBG" and "The Kansas Comet" did. 👩‍⚖️🏈🥇🙏❤️

Happy Tuesday everyone! We hope you all are enjoying this week of beautiful weather so far 🌅🌞😎 Here at the Eldorado Fitness Studio, we believe in having "good clean" fun. Even something as simple as a towel can be transformed into a cool piece of oragami art thanks to our wonderful team member Faith! 🐘🌷😍 Do you have a fun and unique hobby like this that you enjoy?: share a pic with us if so, we love to see what inspires our wonderful members and patrons! Speaking of good hobbies, come start a workout routine with us today and turn a hobby into a healthy habit! 💪🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♂️🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️❤ We hope you all have a wonderful week. Be well and stay healthy!

Good morning and happy Wednesday everyone! ☀️🐫😎 We hope that everyone thawed out from that early fall freeze we had last week 🥶🥶. Now that things are warming back up, we wanted to introduce you to our wonderful Yoga instructor Jim! He has been living in "The city different" since 1994, and has been teaching Yoga for nearly 30 years. Being the fan of nature that he is, his favorite pose is the "Tree pose". And talk about a man of many talents: he was the member of a Funk band prior to teaching Yoga! 🎸🎷🕺😁
His class is every Tuesday at 930am here at the Fitness Studio, we hope that you'll come join us for one soon! Give us a call at (505) 466-7600 or email [email protected] for more details!

[09/10/20]   Happy Thursday everyone! My how the seasons have changed rapidly!🏜❄️☃️😱 We are definitely used to having "all 4 seasons in a day" here in Northern New Mexico, but this is an early cold snap even for our standards. We hope that everyone is staying safe on the roads, and keeping all of their plants and pets warm 🐶🐱🌺🎍🔥😎 Speaking of staying warm: this is a great time of year to get the blood pumping in the gym and starting an exercise regimen! 🏋️‍♀️🏋️🧘‍♀️🧘 We offer morning classes throughout the weekdays, and our wonderful certified Personal Trainer Heather Little is available for private or group training sessions to make sure your form and routine are perfectly tailored to your fitness needs! We are also still offering a "free trial" day for 1st time visitors to the Fitness Studio. Come try out our gym space or a yoga class soon, no pressure or commitment, and see for yourself how committed we are to your health and safety. Have a wonderful day and be well!

Good morning and happy early Labor Day everyone! Did you know that there are several different alleged "origin stories" surrounding this holiday?: According to one story, the event originated in connection with a General Assembly of the Knights of Labor convened in New York City in September 1882. In connection with this assembly, a public parade of various labor organizations was held on September 5th under the auspices of the Central Labor Union of New York. CLU Secretary Matthew Maguire is credited for 1st proposing that a national Labor Day holiday subsequently be held on the first Monday of each September in the aftermath of this successful public demonstration.
An alternative hypothesis maintains that the idea of Labor Day was the brainchild of Peter J. McGuire, a vice president of the American Federation of Labor, who put forward the initial proposal in the spring of 1882.
Yet another origin story goes back to Canada. In 1882, an American labor leader witnessed the annual May “labour day” festivities in Toronto which inspired him to organize the first American “labor day” on September 5 that same year.
Whatever the true origin may be, it is definitely a well-deserved holiday that celebrates all of us hard-working Americans. Speaking of which, we wanted to let everyone know that the Fitness Studio will be OPEN Saturday and Monday, so you are more than welcome to come spend part of your holiday with us! However, Stephanie's 8am Strength, Balance & Flexibility class will be CANCELLED this Monday.
We hope everyone has a healthy and safe holiday weekend, we will see you soon!

[08/24/20]   Happy Monday everyone! We hope you all had a fun and safe weekend 🌅🙏😁. As we mentioned last week, we are very excited to be re-starting classes: in fact, we have gotten everything in place to begin as of next Monday the 31st! 🧘🧘‍♀️🏋️‍♀️🏋️‍♂️🎉🎉 The agreed-upon schedule we have thus far with our instructors is as follows:

8:00AM Strength, Balance & Flexibility - Stephanie
11:00AM Balance and Bone -Ursula
9:30AM Yoga – Jim
11:00AM Balance and Bone -Ursula
8:00AM Strength, Balance & Flexibility – Stephanie

In the spirit of this announcement, we also wanted to start getting everyone up to speed on what our policies & requirements will be once that day comes:

Just as our gym-goers have been doing, we ask that EVERYONE interested in taking classes download the "Zen Planner" app on your phone/computer, where once you create a profile and register with the Fitness Studio, you can reserve a spot in any classes with openings. This will give you the best odds of getting in the class of your choice since our classes will also have limited spaces available to allow for social distancing. You can also call the front desk at (505) 466-7600 to reserve a spot once we get the schedule up, but try to call ASAP if you go that route.
We will also have a 24-hour cancellation policy in place, mainly to protect the time and efforts of our wonderful instructors. We certainly understand that things come up and plans change, but if you need to cancel a reserved spot, you MUST do so at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the class to avoid being charged.
Lastly (as we mentioned in the previous post), since we will be utilizing the hallway space right outside the front of the Fitness Studio space (as well as the usual classroom inside the studio), we will have all the hallway entries/exits designated for class participants only, and fitness studio entries/exits for gym participants only. This will help ensure social distancing and avoid crowding around the front desk area. And of course, all instructors and clients will be required to wear masks.
We hope you are as excited to receive this news as we are to deliver it! It has felt like far too long since we have seen the smiling faces of our wonderful instructors and their clients, so we are very much looking forward to the “class kick-off”! We will keep you updated with any new developments as they come. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to respond to this email or give us a call at (505) 466-7600. Have a wonderful day and be well!

Happy Thursday everyone! We want to thank everyone who gave us their feedback on re-starting fitness classes here at the studio. Your input is extremely valuable to us and we very much appreciate it! 👏 ❤️ The general consensus was very positive: it seems that many of you are ready for us to get back in the swing of things, which we are very excited to hear! In light of this, we wanted to let everyone know that we have begun making concrete plans to restart (safe and socially-distant) classes in the very near future! 🎉🧘🧘‍♀️👍 We have already spoken to a few of our former instructors (Ardas, Jim, Stephanie and Ursula thus far) who are on board, and are making preparations for our building hallway to be used as a make-shift classroom with plenty of private space and airflow (especially once the raffle-winners of the giant playhouse come to claim their prize, which we have also arranged 🏠🏋️🏋️‍♀️😁). We will also be marking off the floor of the hallway and studio room to help ensure social distancing, clients will be required to wear masks at all times in accordance with the governors mandate, and we will require that you bring your own yoga mat.
We will be sure to update you when we have a definitive class schedule on the horizon, and we can't thank you enough for hanging in there with us through these difficult and uncertain times. Whether you decide to join us for classes or not, we are extremely proud of this community we call home. New Mexico did a wonderful job over-all at flattening the covid curve, so we all deserve a big "congratulations" for that! If we had not all done our part to take care of ourselves and each other, we may not even be able to start cranking these class gears back up! 😱😷🏆💪😁
We hope you all have a great weekend, and be well!

Happy Friday the 14th everyone! 🌞📅😎😁 We sent a mass email to everyone on our list yesterday, but wanted to share it here also in case anyone missed it:

Dear Eldorado Fitness Center Members & Patrons,

First and foremost, we want to say that we have greatly missed all of you who are taking a "medically precautionary hiatus" from the gym at this time. We completely understand and support your caution, but have noticed the absence of some of the familiar faces we have grown so accustomed to seeing.

Here at the E.D.F.S, we understand that there are many different types of "gym-goers" in our great community. Some enjoy group fitness, while others prefer to exercise at their own pace on our assortment of machines. Have you been considering returning to the gym, but are hesitant to jump back into a commitment too early?: Again, we could not be more sympathetic to your caution during these uncertain times. That's why we are offering a "free comeback trial" day to all former members and members who have their memberships on hold. Come in and experience for yourself our new protocols. Get a feel for how we are operating and make an informed decision as to whether you should reactivate your membership. No commitment, no pressure, no kidding! :)

The Governor recently permitted the resumption of group fitness classes at 25% capacity. Our #1 priority is and always will be community safety, so we are considering using an outdoor space on the other side of the complex near La Plancha. There is also the studio classroom but the class size would be limited to 4 or 5 people. Before we start anything, we want to hear from all of you about it! Do you feel comfortable returning to class? What classes do you want to return first? If you are interested in group fitness classes returning, please respond to this e-mail and let us know what days/times would work best for you, and we will make every effort to build around that.

From all of us here at the gym and across the La Tienda Shopping Center: We hope you are all staying safe and healthy, and we look forward to hearing your feedback! Have a wonderful day and be well.

Good morning and happy Tuesday everyone! Some of you out there might be missing college/professional sports, since many seasons have been understandably cancelled/delayed due to the Covid outbreak. However, and luckily for this fan, "Americas Pastime" has been in full swing for a few weeks now! ⚾️🇺🇸❤️😁 There have been several safety measures put in place: such as no fans in the stands, players/coaches wearing masks and a much shorter 60-game season than the usual 162. Speaking of "the greatest show on dirt", did you know that on this day in 1929, George Herman "Babe" Ruth became the first player to record 500 home runs in their career? He would go on to be known as the "Sultan of Swat", and was one of the first 5 players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Though he tragically died of cancer at the young age of 53, he still remains one of the most iconic sports figures to this day.
We hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe, and we look forward to seeing you in the gym soon!

Happy "Throwback" Thursday everyone! Today we wanted to talk about an epic physical accomplishment that happened on "this day in History". Nearly 100 years ago on August 6th 1926 (on her second attempt), 19-year-old Gertrude Ederle becomes the first woman to swim the 21 miles from Dover, England, to Cape Griz-Nez across the English Channel, which separates Great Britain from the northwestern tip of France! 💪🏊🏆 Surprisingly enough, Gertrude didn't even learn to swim until she was 9, and it wasn't until the age of 15 that she learned proper form in the water. But after that, there was no stopping her! by age 17, she won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, which paved the way for this amazing historical accomplishment. When she swam the channel, the water was cold and it took her 14.5 hours (which was actually an astonishing 2 hours less than the previous Male record holder!), but with a little encouragement from her father who was tailing her in a boat and promised "to buy her a roadster, but only if she finished!", she completed her historic quest! 🏎🎁😍 Later that year, she was even dubbed "Americas Best Girl" by President Calvin Coolidge.
We hope that this story may encourage you to conquer a metaphorical "English channel" of your own! Is there a difficult hike or swim that you've always wanted to try?: let us know what it is! Here at the Eldorado Fitness Center, we always want to inspire fitness and health in our community. Have a great day and be well!
