T.R. Lawrence grew up worshiping National Geographic magazine and studying encyclopedias and world atlases. His love for the thrill of the hunt for antique treasures has given him a life rich with adventures.

Locals who are passionate for travel came to hear more stories that included the 17 years T.R.with his wife, Linda as they built their business "Nomads of Santa Fe" on Shelby street in downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico. They specialized in Moroccan imports.

Readers lined up to get their books signed by T.R. called, "Lawrence of Marrakech: From the Magical Markets of Morocco."

Linda hosted this special book signing at the Traveler's Market in Santa Fe with hand made d'oeuvres from her favorite Mococcan recipes. Friends new and old came to support T.R. and Linda for this special event.

T.R. Lawrence and his wife, Linda O'Leary have always been adventurous. They met as young twenty-somethings on South Padre Island, Texas, and within six months were on their first trip to Marrakech, Morocco.

Marrakech in the late 70's was an experience that filled all of the senses. To this day, Marrakesh is still semi-Biblical in many ways, especially in the Medina areas where T.R. and Linda would choose to spend their time. Exploring the souks on bicycles and discovering antique rugs and artifacts as well as the newest artisan offerings, they imagined a retail store back in the States that could showcase these treasures.

Traveler's Market, Experience the adventure. Forty international treasure hunters under one roof. Travel the world without a passport.

Our Visiting dealer this year is Carola Pfau.Carola, born in Germany, always had an interest in antiques, jewelry and textiles. Her grandmother Franziska was an early inspiration and later, during her 8 years of study and work in Japan, Carola began to collect and study Japanese antique textiles. Travels throughout Europe and Asia led to an appreciation of other textile traditions. After working in business and law, she decided 20 years ago to make her passion for textiles and antiques her professional focus.

Her collection focuses on antique and vintage handmade textiles especially (but not exclusively) from Japan, folk art, tribal jewelry and other traditional arts.
