starting with a sunset behind a barn in Iowa

years later… we’ve watched sunsets in places we never imagined we’d see…
and it’s a blessing every time
I get to watch one with you🫶💕

happy birthday to an amazing man 🥳
thank you for loving me
all the adventures
and all the love you’ve given through the years

every sunset is beautiful….
but sharing them with someone you love makes them even better!!

to feel the energy

I’ve attended football matches in Rome and London

and what stayed with me most
wasn’t the score

(honestly…
I don’t even remember the score!! 😂)

it was the passion
the songs
the way thousands of fans
cheer their team forward

travel teaches you
that some moments
need no translation

whether it’s a match in Italy
a match in England
or a World Cup game in north america…

excitement is easy to notice

⚽ fun footnote: football (soccer) is often called “the world’s game” because it is played in nearly every country on earth

a walk beneath the trees
a bird singing
a cloud crossing the sun

🎋 fun footnote: in Japan, bamboo is often seen as a symbol of strength and resilience. in kyoto’s arashiyama bamboo grove, the towering bamboo filters much of the sunlight…. creating a peaceful atmosphere worthy of a joyful pause

just like the biggest dreams
ask something of us

hard work
time
energy

days and months and years stretch us

but every challenge
every long day
every quiet and
every not so quiet sacrifice

prepare us for what we cannot see yet

giving our best
does not mean perfection

not every sunset is perfect…
and still somehow beautiful

beauty comes later for the sunset…
when light deepens and colors magnify

the sun never stops showing up

maybe that’s our reminder too…
trust the journey
keep going
keep showing up
keep pursuing the dream
