Hello parents of 2013 soccer players! I am looking for help getting my daughter Calliope to and from practice on Tuesday evenings. We live in Casa Alegre near Frenchy's Park. I work in Las Vegas and have a hard time getting back to Santa Fe in time. Please message or text me at 910 264 4483 if you can help. Thanks so much!

[05/31/21]   We are still on for Monday's U-6/7 Development play day. If there are any weather-related cancelation, we will post them here, send out an email, and update the club's weather line 505.982.6114.

We will always try to make a decision by 3pm based on the weather data available to us. In some cases, a decision may be made later due to sudden changes in conditions such as tornado watches/warnings.

Not all of our weather-related decisions are perfect but we do our best based on our knowledge of known weather patterns around the Downs and current weather models.

Please do not call the club. We are usually not in the office when these decisions are made and we may be trying to update everyone or observing weather conditions.

Thank you!

We are currently evaluating the weather. The hourly forecast indicates clear weather at 5p.

Please do not call, email or message the club about the weather and if we will play. We will post an update here and the weather line if there is a change.

[05/03/21]   5/3/21 Weather Update

We do not cancel games due to rain. We cancel games when conditions are unsafe for play. Lightning and high winds have been our most recent reasons for cancellation.

We have no issue with parents hold their kids out of play days due to bad weather. Cold conditions can compromise young immune systems.

We typically arrive at the fields at about 4:45p and inspect playing conditons. If the fields are not safe or if play risks damaging the fields, we will cancel games.

You may call our field and weather hotline to see if games will proceed. 505.982.0878 press star or 505.982.6114 directly.

Please don't try to call our office for weather updates. Late in the day, we are at the fields and you will only get voicemail. We will update the weather line when appropriate.

As of right now, we are being forecasted for occasional rain until 8:15p but forecasts aren't perfect.

[03/16/21]   Hello Northern families,

Over the many months during the COVID crisis, our families have struggled with many issues. Online learning has presented its challenges, the economy came to a standstill and the old normal became a distant fantasy. As a community and a country, we now face how to re-open and live life.

Northern Soccer Club will not be rushing to reopen. With that said, we will use the best data and science to return to play. Here we are outlining our plan to return to play. As of right now, our governor has not reinstated youth sports to return to play nor does Northern Soccer Club intend to pressure the Governor’s office to allow us to play.

All plans are subject to change based on state restrictions.

Development Season
Our Development program would begin to play in May and will be altered significantly from its usual format. Our U6s, U7s, and U8s will play their usual 4v4 format. Our U4/5 program will not happen this Spring and we will not be allowing play-up requests to U6. U9/10, U11/12, U14/15/16/17s will all play 3v3. We will not be forming teams nor will there be any practice sessions. We will be playing grassroots-style soccer. There will only be play days. Age groups will have a play day during the weekdays. Do not expect Saturday games because we do not plan on scheduling very many. Players will be placed on different teams each game day and will play with different teammates every week. These changes will are meant to reduce the number of people at The Downs at any given time and to also minimize unnecessary contacts.

Development registration details:
Registration will open up in April (if the governor allows your sports to play) and the cost will be $90. If you paid registration for Spring 2020, your fee will be applied to your registration minus $30. Everyone will have to pay $30 for registration and insurance to the state association. The balance of the Spring 2020 paid fees will be applied to a future season.
We will be requiring all spectators to wear masks at The Downs. We have not made any decisions on mask use by players as of yet. We will have all of our mask use rules in place prior to registration

Select Season
Our coaches should be reaching out to existing select families to determine if there is enough interest to field teams in the Duke City Soccer League schedule. Duke City would like to begin an eight-game season once the governor allows youth sports to return to the field. Northern does not control DCSL’s policies in regards to COVID. Please assume no additional precautions will be taken by DCSL.

We will not be forcing a team to happen if there is not enough interest. Select families will not be pressured to participate because each family has its own circumstances at home that we will respect. We encourage our Northern families to also respect families who do not wish to participate in the Spring season.

Select registration details:
We will open up registration once we know a team will happen. Players who paid fees for select Spring 2020 will receive a $200 credit. Pre-comp players will receive a $125 credit for Spring 2020 fees paid.

Northern Soccer Club will be operating on a 100% volunteer basis. We will not be maintaining regular office hours. We will do our best to offer a few drop-in registration sessions in the evenings in April.
We look forward to being able to serve our community once again and wish everyone well and good health.

[05/14/20]   Hello Northern Soccer Club Families,

Spring soccer will not happen due to the current COVID-19 situation.

We will be sending out correspondence to each program over the weekend with our next steps in regards to credits/refunds. We have four different programs. Three of the programs did see some soccer this Spring.

These have been difficult times for everyone including our families. Northern Soccer has been not been untouched by this pandemic.

We are finalizing all the details right now, as it is being further complicated by the introduction of new registration system for the Fall season.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Fall.

Please stand by for further information on how the next stage of the process will take place.

Thank you.
