We had a fantastic turnout at auditions and have cast most roles — thank you to everyone who came out!

We are still seeking submissions for:

Rodolfo – traditionally tenor, but for this production we are especially interested in a female or nonbinary soprano/mezzo-soprano (tenors still welcome to inquire).

Alcindoro – baritone, strong character/comedic presence.

This is for our English-language adaptation, performing June 10–14 with a September remount.

Closing out our artist announcements for Opera on Tap — the wonderful pianist Daniel Goldsmith!

Daniel Goldsmith is a pianist, music director, and educator currently based in Santa Cruz County. A collaborative pianist with more than two decades of experience, Daniel specializes in performing and coaching a wide variety of repertoire and styles ranging from classical, musical theater, jazz and hip hop. In his professional life in the theater he has music directed and conducted dozens of productions, most recently Cabrillo Stage’s Sweeney Todd, and Santa Cruz Opera Project’s Die Fledermaus. In his work in both community and youth theater, Daniel is especially passionate about using the stage as an educational springboard, and spreading the joy of live stage performances to both audiences and performers alike. He holds a BM in piano performance from University of the Pacific (CA) and an MM in collaborative piano from Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
