a little history...
I thank my parents, Eugenio and Philomena Petrini, for instilling in me the pride I have for our Italian lineage and the work ethic I have which continues to this day. My father immigrated from Lucca, Italy as a young man and with my Mom, opened up Petrini’s Palace of Sweets in Abingdon, Illinois (shown in photo above). It is there that I worked the counter as a young boy, selling ci**rs, ci******es and making change during my lunch breaks in elementary school.
Fast forward to 1958, I opened up our family style Italian restaurants with two of my brothers. My wife Madeline and I sold the business in 1996, but retained the rights to the secret salad dressing recipe, which was so popular in the restaurant that people would often request “to go containers” of it to take home. That’s what led to the bottling and selling of our dressing, Julio Petrini’s Italian Salad Dressings of Santa Barbara. We have since added our Italian Ranch Dressing to our Classic Italian and Original Italian recipes, both of which are ALL NATURAL, have NO SUGAR or SWEETENERS and are made only with 100% OLIVE OIL
My Father was so proud of his hometown of Lucca, Italy, which he boasted was the “Olive Oil Capital of the World”! I know that he and my Mother, if they were alive today, would still be proud of the product and service we deliver with Julio Petrini’s Italian Salad Dressings of Santa Barbara.
