Students educating students about Armenian culture throughout California State University, Long Beach. Thursdays from 11 AM - 1 PM in USU 307.

The Armenian Student Association of California State University, Long Beach serves to educate students on campus about the Armenian culture, as well as help students understand the historical tragedy that was the Armenian Genocide of 1915. We provide cultural activities that will help further educate and capture interest of students on campus, and will to allow them the opportunity to delve into the Armenian culture in terms of history, literature, art, food, dance, music, and many more aspects.

UC Berkeley Genocide Awareness Week Ribbon 04/15/2015

ACTION REQUIRED: Please take a moment to read this and fill out the form.

This year for the Centennial commemoration of the Armenian Genocide UC Berkeley ASA will be creating a life size tree that will be filled with thousands of ribbons. The ribbons are used to symbolize and connect the 1.5 million who died in the genocide to the millions who are alive and thriving today.
We need your help. We want to make this tree something that is representative of the Armenian community. The bigger the community involvement the bigger the symbolic strength of our tree. We are going to fill the tree with purple ribbons that have names of Armenian families and their locations. We want to include as many families as we possibly can. Please take a few seconds to send us your family name and your location by filling out this google doc http://goo.gl/KwKbwz, emailing [email protected], or contacting us through Facebook.

Thank You So much For your time! Feel free to share this with other community members, friends, and family!

More Information about us:
Each year UC Berkeley Armenian Students' Association dedicates a week to the recognition, remembrance, and the education of the Armenian Genocide. Each day of Genocide Awareness Week (GAW) has an event that brings attention to the history and the issues surrounding the Armenian Genocide. On top of our events, ASA builds a memorial that stands proudly on Memorial Glade, a big grass field that is central to UC Berkeley Student life. It provides a space where the Armenian students and the community can come together to mourn, reflect, and unite on an issue that has so deeply affected us all. In addition, the memorial gives people on the outside of the Armenian community an opportunity to learn and ask questions.

UC Berkeley Genocide Awareness Week Ribbon The information below will be added as a ribbon on our papier-mâché tree. This tree will be the UC Berkeley's Armenian Student Association memorial for Genocide Awareness Week.

Today is a day of accomplishment...

Only having been active for less than a month, our group pulled together and fundraised enough money to take us to the All-ASA games at UCSB with both men's and women's basketball teams! We're gonna WIN, BABY!
