We recently collaborated with the incredibly talented to make this custom steel etagere (open shelf structure) for a local client’s outdoor garden potting table / outdoor dining space. We think it looks lovely against the backdrop of the client’s lush garden, and pairs perfectly with the hand-picked decor that surrounds it (we have Hayley to thank for that). In honor of Spring, here's a photo montage of a pedestrian gate Andy just finished for some fantastic local clients. I'd describe it as "Art Nouveau-meets-George-Macdonald-Fairyland" (minus the evil fairies). It perfectly fits their charming Santa Barbara patio enclosure overlooking the city.

Happy Friday! Check out this incredible table base design created by Dan Patterson and fabricated here in our shop. The backstory? A local client came to us with an existing tabletop and asked us to make a base. Dan proposed this design, and after a few meetings it was a go! Fast-forward to completion: a beautiful, modern, sculptural table ensemble that perfectly compliments the breezy and bright room that overlooks the city of Santa Barbara. Well done, Dan!

The good folks at SB Forge have been busy this week - take a look to see just a few of the things we finished in the past few days!

We just installed this steel awning at a beautiful Santa Barbara hilltop home. It had to withstand some of the 65 mph winds that regularly whip up the canyon while also providing resistance to wildfires. The particular direction of the steel crossbars provides shade at the key times of day while maintaining the view of the foothills. Great design + rock solid construction = beautiful metal!
