Es una vergüenza que la Municipalidad no se ocupe de la recuperación de esta obra. Me gustaría saber el motivo del abandono de esta obra que debería ser incluida en el patrimonio arquitectónico de la ciudad.

Uno de los Iconos de la arquitectura moderna en Argentina, El Parador Ariston, obra de Marcelo Breuer, Carlos Coire y Eduardo Catalano, sigue abandonado a su suerte y sin ninguna protección normativa que permita preservar esta obra irremplazable.

FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS MIES VAN DER ROHE!
Hace 128 años, un día como hoy en la ciudad de Aquisgrán, Alemania, nacía uno de los más grandes Arquitectos del movimiento moderno, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
La arquitectura de Mies se caracteriza por la sencillez de los elementos estructurales, la composición geométrica y ausencia total de elementos ornamentales.
El interés por los materiales como elemento expresivo define su obra. Emplea la piedra, el mármol, el acero, el vidrio en su más absoluta pureza y trabaja con el hormigón en todas sus posibilidades, como elemento estructural y como material de acabado exterior.
Inicialmente se orientó hacia la arquitectura neoclásica, pero un viaje a los Países Bajos en 1912 le llevó a cambiar sus intereses, a raíz del descubrimiento de la obra de H. P. Berlage.
Tras el paréntesis de la Primera Guerra Mundial, se adhirió a diversos movimientos de vanguardia y empezó a realizar proyectos revolucionarios.
La consagración de Mies van der Rohe se produjo en 1929, cuando realizó el pabellón de Alemania para la Exposición Internacional de Barcelona, considerado por muchos su obra maestra y una de las obras arquitectónicas más influyentes del siglo XX.

El Premio Pritzker 2014 se lo lleva el arquitecto japonés Shigeru Ban.

Por 20 años Ban ha viajado alrededor del mundo a sitios donde han sucedido desastres naturales y humanos para trabajar con ciudadanos locales, voluntarios y estudiantes para diseñar y construir simple, dignamente, refugios reciclables con un bajo costo y edificios comunitarios para victimas de estas circunstancias."
