KDLM senior partner Judith Livingston has been inducted as President of the Inner Circle of Advocates, an invitation-only organization of the top 100 plaintiffs lawyers in the United States. Livingston was the first woman and the youngest member to be invited into the prestigious organization and today she becomes the second female to hold the title of President. Last week, master gyotaku artist Dwight Hwang brought the art of nature printing—specifically fish printing—back to the Museum, during the President’s Reception for our Leadership Circles of Giving Members. His talk and demonstration was followed by an opportunity to make your own fish print. Developed by Japanese fishermen to record their catch, this method has also been adopted by scientists, like accomplished nature printer Curator Emeritus F. G. “Eric” Hochberg, Ph.D. Librarian Terri Sheridan shared a showcase of nature prints in the Museum Library, including works by Dr. Hochberg, and Curator Linda Miller provided insights into the current exhibit in the Maximus Gallery, Kachō-e: Impressions of Natural History in Japanese Prints. Thanks to everyone who made this evening equally informative and engaging.
