This is a testament to the kind of business Jimmie and Bailie have run for years and the respect Afford It Tires Sanger tx has earned from fellow businesses. It’s GOOD to be GOOD!

For those of you that don’t know, a local Sanger business that has treated this town so well & has been a huge aspect retired today and has allowed us to continue their services.

Gentles Oil & Tires as of 5 o clock today closed their doors. The name Gentle has been apart of Sanger since 1898. From hardware to grocery and currently oil and tires, they have serviced this community for a long time. We are blessed that they have asked us to take over and we cannot wait for this next step. The Gentles family is in our prayers for the next step in their lives and we appreciate them so much.

We will be opening AFFORD IT OIL & AUTO at the Gentles location at 504 Bolivar Street on November 1st. Oil changes will be immediate & brakes and alignments will follow soon. We will not be doing tires at the bolivar location but will still be helping with all your tire needs at our location at 300 South Stemmons.

We can’t wait for this expansion for our business and family to serve our community in a different aspect.

In a new developing partnership with the school district and the Economic Development Corporation we are seeking input from area business owners and employers regarding a need (or future need) for a skilled workforce and what that might actually look like.

As you may or may not know, the Foundation works along side the school district to help not only financially support current student programs but also to help identify any potential new student programs the district can perhaps offer to our students. YOU as a business owner or employer know what skills you are looking for, which is WHY we are reaching out to you. The Sanger Economic Development Corporation works along side business owners which is exactly why your input is so valuable as we further develop this new exciting partnership with the school district. As the EDC Executive Director stated, " A steady pipeline of skilled employees at all levels is vital for economic development and benefits employers like you." Did you know that SISD already offers an excellent opportunity to recruit future talent? (Check out: https://www.sangerisd.net/departments/career-and-technical-education ) And with your insight into what that future talent might look like, the EDC and SISD can create workforce training programs that focus on the skills you find most essential.

Favorite FFA Memory: Watching the solar eclipse with my teammates and everyone at the Area V Wool Evaluation Contest. Then, we found out we "totally eclipsed" the competition by winning 1st at Area and advancing to State.

Scholarships Recieved: $6000 - Big Tex State Fair of Texas Scholarship, $250 Texas National Stock Show Scholarship, $1500 West Texas A&M University Educational Scholarship

Future Plans: I will attend West Texas A&M University in the fall and major in Agricultural Education.
