Well it’s Monday morning and most
are just trying to get through the day. Meanwhile, MJS Security Services⁠ is already out working, patrolling, training, responding, and staying ahead of the game.

MJS Security Services is officially lowering the minimum hiring age from 21 to 18 years old.

We believe professionalism, accountability, and maturity are not defined by age alone. At 18 years old, individuals are already trusted to serve in the military, fire service, EMS, and many other positions with serious responsibility. We believe the security industry should be no different. With proper training, supervision, and standards, motivated young adults can build successful careers in security and public safety. Our goal is to develop the next generation of professional security officers earlier, stronger, and with higher standards from day one. This industry needs more real professionals and we’re ready to start building them.

At MJS Security Services, we are always looking for equipment that gives our officers the best performance without unnecessary cost. Recently, we got our hands on the Osight SE, and so far we’re impressed with what it brings to the table for the price point. Over the summer, we’ll be putting this optic through real world testing in daily patrol operations, training, and range work to see how it truly performs under pressure. Reliability, durability, battery life, and ease of use all matter when equipment is trusted in the field. If the Osight SE continues to perform the way we expect, there’s a very real possibility this could become the new standard optic for MJS Security Services moving forward.

From 1954 until the early 1990s, Macy’s Department Store in New York City operated one of the most iconic private security canine programs in the country. It all started with security guard Joe Gaudioso and K-9 Cash, part of Macy’s original Doberman security team that patrolled the store after hours protecting one of America’s busiest retail locations. According to historical reports, one handler would sometimes be responsible for multiple dogs patrolling off leash throughout the store during overnight operations.

Long before modern security K-9 teams. These teams proved the value of trained working dogs in private security operations and helped pave the way for today’s security canine industry. Respect to the handlers and K-9s who set the standard decades ago.
