Y’all! The geometry in this flowering cactus set is SO fun!! I won this at BrickSlopes and had such a blast building it tonight, and needed to share this fab build technique with you! Shout out to the designers who figured this out - so cool!!

HUZZAH!! BrickSlopes was full of remarkable builds by remarkable builders! I saw dear friends and made new ones, and was constantly inspired! Let’s take a look through some that spoke to me!
Curiosity Cove by Caleb & Kirra | LEGO Lovers - a fabulous and whimsical build with fantastic techniques for rock and base work! I love how this is so imaginative and pulled directly from their hearts and minds - so creative!
MYST Linking Book and Star Fissure by Mike O - Digital Brick Building - nostalgia times a million!
Wild Robot by A hologram - one of my FAV builders who is also a super kind person! This build is both remarkable in what it is, and the story behind people coming together to help Roby rebuild it when it broke! 🫶
Danish Mill Bakery by Hunter Galino - I adore the storytelling, and the super cute and clever brick-built baker friends, all with unique expressions and poses!
Dinosaurs on Main Street by Evancelt - this was such a clever build, and the technical aspects with the lighting in the upright portal are outstanding!
Mech of Ages / What Happens When LEGO Technic Fails by Anders Martin Hulth - I’ve been hoping to see Marty’s mechs for years and this didn’t disappoint! I love how resilient he is in adjusting the build into another fabulous story when the technic piece failed.
I SPY Blocks by John Reiley - I mean, come on! This was SO fun to look at!!!
Land of Oz by James (or Jimmy to some of you) Brent Everitt, Dallas Griswold, Tanner Wallace Johnson, Hamilton Whitney, Alison Shearer, and Matthew Fox - y’all, the way the buildings stand upright while the rest of the base is angled is 🧑🍳 💋
All of these fab 🏈 builds by professional women’s football player, Kristie Kelly! Her character work is so fun, but my fav part was how she created the massive goal posts! She generously took it apart to show me the few technic pieces that create the perfect angle, and WOW!
The Last Piece by Luis Saladrigas - this build has my heart!
Keith Haring’s Radiant Baby by Drew Thomas and Jesika Sand - huge fan of Keith Haring and was thrilled to see one of his iconic pieces in brick-built mosaic form!
Les Misérables by Trevor Bishop and J - y’all! I did not adequately capt
Meet the smart-brick compatible Gerry the GiraffeStronaut! 🦒 🧑🚀 💫🚀
For the August Mashup Technique challenge, I selected animals and space, and decided to incorporate a LEGO Smart Brick and Smart Tag into the MOC! I borrowed the tag from the Drone Search for Mythical Mew drone build, as it makes the perfect flight sounds!
I’m displaying my monthly build challenge submissions at BrickSlopes, and had a blast flying Gerry around everyone’s fab Mocs! Come say hi if you’re here!!
I really enjoyed this challenge, and am loving seeing the builds come in from AFOL and TFOL builders around the globe! Follow along with my stories to see the builds from other builders and share some love - then stay tuned to my Build With BradyJoynerBricks channel for the tutorial and prompt for September!
Did you know you can get a free Pokèmon Smart Tag at the LEGO stores? Download and hop to it!
It’s SUPER EFFECTIVE!!
