Not only do we share Vermilion in our state house districts, Easton and I shared a table at Vermilion Pride. I brought the stickers and he brought the candy. Together, we are going to make things happen in Columbus. 💙

My heart is with the victims, their families, and everyone affected by yesterday’s tragic shooting at Toledo’s Old West End Festival. What should have been a day of celebration, community, and bringing people together was instead marked by fear and violence.

Incidents like this remind us that public safety is not a partisan issue. Every Ohioan deserves to feel safe attending a neighborhood festival, community event, or gathering with friends and family. We must support the victims as they recover, stand with the first responders and law enforcement officers who answered the call, and ensure those responsible are held accountable.

As we learn more about what happened, let us keep the victims and their loved ones in our thoughts and recommit ourselves to building stronger, safer communities where families can come together without fear.
