🔥 Here is a portion of Los Angeles Angels catcher Logan O’Hoppe’s pregame warm up and receiving routine. 👉 I personally loved how the first 8-10 reps, after he put his mitt on, he simply “paddled the ball” keeping his mitt open allowing the ball to drop after contact (notice he looks down to see where the ball ended up after each rep). 👍 If you get the pocket behind the ball you’ll hear a clean pop and the ball will drop directly below your mitt. ❌ If you stab at it or swipe at it the ball will sometimes rattle around in the mitt and there’s no telling where it will end up… definitely not right below your mitt. #baseballlife #catcherlife #catchers
