Macrame & More - Designs, Patterns & Tutorials
I create macramé through the lens of a designer, inspired by nature and the spaces we live in.
Along the way, I share patterns, tutorials, and behind-the-scenes insights to help others learn, create, and grow in their own macramé journey.

☀️ Hello Summer! ☀️
This is my season.
Give me warm weather, RV trips, hiking trails, happy dogs, and a macramé project to work on, and I'm a pretty happy camper.
One of the things I love most about what I do is that my work can come along for the ride. Whether we're parked in the mountains, by a lake, or somewhere in between, I can still create, design and share with all of you.
What is your favorite thing about summer?
🍄It doesn't take much to make something cute and whimsical!
🎉 The Quintina Knot Sampler Tutorial is here! 🎉
If you've been following along with my 5 Knots in 5 Days series, this is the perfect next step.
This beginner-friendly project teaches five essential macramé knots while creating a finished sampler you can keep for future reference.
I intentionally included tips, common mistakes, and ways to fix them because learning macramé should be fun, not frustrating.
My hope is that by the end of this tutorial you'll not only have a finished project, but also the confidence to continue your macramé journey.
Materials list is in the first comment below.
If you make one, I'd love to see it! Share a photo in the comments and let me celebrate your progress with you. ❤️

🌿That's a wrap on 5 Knots in 5 Days!
Over the past five days we've learned 5 essential macrame knots.
Which one was your favorite?
1. Lark's Head Knot
2. Square Knot
3. Half Knot Twist
4. Double Half Hitch Knot
5. Gathering Knot
Tell me your favorite in the comments.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a beginner-friendly project that uses all 5 of these knots together.
🌿5 Knots in 5 Days - Day 5
Today's knot is the Gathering Knot
This knot is used to gather cords together. I often use this knot at the top and bottom of plant hangers, to secure tassels, or as a decorative way to finish cords at the bottom of a wall hanging.
I often think of this knot as the finishing touch that helps pull a project together. It's decorative, but it also serves an important structural purpose by keeping cords neatly secured.

What's your favorite part of a project: getting started, seeing it take shape, or adding the finishing touches?
🌿5 Knots in 5 Days - Day 4
Today's knot is the Double Half Hitch Knot
This knot took me a little longer to master, as it does for most people, but it was worth the effort.
The Double Half Hitch Knot is hands down my favorite knot because of its versatility. With it, I can create designs like diamonds, leaves, waves, macramé tapestries, and so much more.

If you could learn to make one macramé design, what would it be?
🌿5 Knots in 5 Days - Day 3
Today's knot is the Half Knot Twist.
By repeating the same half knot over and over, you create the beautiful spiral effect often seen in plant hangers and decorative projects.
This is one of my favorite knots when I want to add a little movement and texture to a design.

Do you prefer straight lines or spirals in your macramé projects?
🌿5 Knots in 5 Days - Day 2
Today's knot is the Square Knot.
If you've ever seen a traditional macramé plant hanger, chances are you've seen square knots. It's one of the most recognizable knots in macramé and a great one for beginners to learn.
I use this knot so much I can do it with my eyes closed. 😊

🌿5 Knots in 5 Days - Day 1
Today we're starting with the Lark's Head Knot, one the most common knot used as the starting point for many macramé projects.
This simple knot is the one I use most often to attach cords to rings, branches, dowels, or anything else I want to use as a mount for a project.
