I had so much fun painting from this photo taken by Millie Garrison of the dunes along the Outer Banks.

So true. I don’t breathe. I bring a glass of water and then don’t drink it.

I hope you can join me on Sunday, July 6 from 3-5pm at the reception for my solo exhibition at The Community Church of Chapel Hill, Unitarian, Universalist.
The public is welcome! To view the show during the week before 1pm, check in at the church’s office.
I am a retired RN, but always made art in the background. I returned to college in the ‘90s and received a Bachelor’s of Studio Arts. In 2012 I began making pine needle baskets and have continued in that vein, however, since finding pastels and landscapes during the pandemic, I have become obsessed with them.
I currently teach both basketmaking and soft pastel landscapes at The Arts Center in Carrboro, NC.
My work can also be seen at the Pittsboro Gallery of Arts, in Pittsboro, NC, online at the Chatham Artists Guild, Instagram, and page (JodyNashStudio).

16x20 soft pastel on Lux Archival sanded paper. Not sure I got the boat right but I’m loving how the water and mountain peak turned out.
