Most everyone is aware that COVID-19 vaccination status is important. And based on the news recently, I think it will become more important in the near future.
At the time of this writing, vaccinations are not required to get a haircut at the shop. It is currently requested that unvaccinated customers wear a mask.
All the folks who work at Joe’s Barbershop are fully vaccinated.
But things are starting to change. I understand that many of the bars here in San Francisco are either already requiring proof of vaccination status or will be very soon. And it is possible that this will become a state or city mandate.
The state of California has a website that will help you verify your status. It is easy to use, and once you have it, you can take a screen shot of it and keep it on you phone. And then you are ready for whatever the new requirements are. I am suggesting that you do this as soon as you can. Update any problems you find. [The first time I checked this website my second dose was not listed. But that was corrected.]
So, get ahead of the rush and do this now.

We are excited to announce that we will be open starting Thursday January 28, 2021. All haircuts will be available. But, we will not be able to do any service that requires the removal of your facemask. So for us that means no beard trims or shaves.
PLEASE FOLLOW
By obeying government health codes and “Social Distancing” orders we are committed to our community’s health. We ask that you observe the following prior to seeing us:
If you are not feeling well or have recently been sick, we cannot see you, if you have an appointment, please contact you cutter and tell them you are sick.
When waiting outside, maintain social distance of 6 feet, and wear your mask
If you are using the WAIT LIST, you must add your MOBILE TELEPHONE NUMBER and wait for a text to tell you we are ready for you. We will let you know when your cutter is ready for you to enter the shop. Please come in alone (no friends, partners) only when you have been instructed to do so.
If you have an appointment with Joe or Basil, please make sure your MOBILE TELEPHONE NUMBER is in your appointment and then wait outside for a text to tell you we are ready for you. Please come in alone (no friends, partners) and only when you have been instructed to do so.
Very limited waiting in the shop [think for ADA], please wait outside if you can.
All guests must wear a face covering upon entry. Your cutter will greet you, take your temperature, and give you a health screening before your cut.
Thank you for being patient with us as we adapt to the new normal.
Starting Tuesday, October 28, we can now do beard trims. Come on in and lets us shape up your beard!
New times. New instructions. See you soon for a socially distant, well ventilated haircut.
Smokey day here.
Socially distant haircut. We basically have twice the space between stations, and great airflow. So come on in.
What a good day, today we have blue skies, and clear air.
The sky is dark, it’s orange. There’s very little ambient light. It’s a very strange day. Our ability to cut outside is hampered by the fact that it’s almost 9 AM, and there’s not enough light to even set up our stations. And we’re sitting in the shop and you can’t even see the building across the street.
We had a great re-opening of the shop. We even need the evening news. Thanks ABC.
Coronavirus California: San Francisco barbershops reopen for outdoor service GOOD NEWS! You can now get a haircut outside at Joe's Barbershop and other barbershops in San Francisco.
