Yesterday Mama went on a long bike ride under the California sun to her favorite chocolate shop and when she returned she was so tired after her ride that she couldn't finish eating them all.

So last night when she went to bed early to nurse Papa who was home with a really aggressive flu, and being the responsible puppy I am, I did the right thing and helped her finish all of them so that they didn't go bad. All seventeen, delicately wrapped, hand made, gourmet, dark chocolate pieces. They tasted great!

But later Ma and Papa were sleeping and I ate so much I had to go outside. It was late and they were sleeping really hard. Papa was out cold from the medication, shivering and sweaty. Well, I just couldn't hold it any longer and, well, I burst. I am ashamed I couldn't wait longer but no one would wake up and at first it was just a little chocolate lava but it soon bubbled over and exploded all over the room, and sheets, and floor.

So I hid under the covers until morning.

When the morning light started to peek through the window blinds, mama got up to get ready for work and she discovered the mess under her bare feet and pulled back the sheets to see if Papa was ok. He had a rough night. He was covered in pudding and woke up confused, fever fogged, and believing he must have shat all over the room in his sleep. He was pretty sick.

But then he smelled the chocolate...
