We lost a profoundly special Judge today: Judge Sol Casseb.
You made it to Heaven first my Brother Judge--deepest prayers and love to your beautiful wife of over 50 years and your family. This world is less tonight without your spirit.

Virgil and I wish you a joyful Thanksgiving 🦃

Remembering and honoring our Veterans

Wanted to take the opportunity this morning to thank each and everyone of you for your support, encouragement, hours and hours of work, resources, and prayers.
While my heart was set on spending the rest of my legal career serving Bexar County, and especially kiddos in the foster care system, as your judge, that is not to be.
But I am so honored and grateful to have been on that path and to have walked it with you.
I will be prayerfully waiting to see what God has planned for us and how we together can make Bexar County an even more precious place.
Congratulations to Judge-Elect Christine Hortick. I wish you many blessings as you serve Bexar County as Judge of the 225th District Court.

Reasons #5 & #4: I am humbled to be the founding Judge of PEARLS Court.
Since Election day is TUESDAY(!), we have two reasons today to finish out the letters in “PEARLS.”
L is for Learning.
noun: Learning
1. the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience, study, or by being taught.
Each step of thriving in Foster Care takes learning, just as each step in building PEARLS Court brought leaps of learning.
I learned. The mentors learned. The girls learned. We all took steps towards, becoming better as we grew together.
&
S is for Strength/Stamina
noun: Strength/STAMINA
1. the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness and to LAST
I know for a fact that no one is stronger than a teen girl in Foster Care who has battled through adversity to THRIVE!
